The bustling port was filled with the clamor of people and the clanging of ships, but all this was overshadowed for Lin Yan as he found himself abruptly surrounded. A navy colonel, a formidable figure with a large saber slung at his side, stepped forward with a sense of authority that cut through the surrounding noise. Pointing his blade directly at Lin Yan, he demanded, "Young man, surrender now!"
Lin Yan glanced around at the group of navy officers encircling him without uttering a word. Their presence felt like an absurd mistake. Was he really being targeted for just standing there? One after another, they demanded his surrender, their faces grim and serious. Are they insane? Lin Yan thought to himself, his mind echoing a single, frustrated exclamation: "Fuck!"
The colonel, unyielding and stern, scrutinized Lin Yan further. "Tell me, what is your relationship with that woman?" he demanded, his voice carrying a mix of suspicion and command. Lin Yan chose to remain silent, giving nothing away with his expression. Unfazed, the colonel continued, "What role do you play in her pirate crew?"
Still, Lin Yan did not speak. His silence seemed to draw out the colonel's impatience, his brows furrowing deeply as his face grew displeased. "Won't talk, huh? I hope you're still this tough when a variety of tortures are presented before you in prison," he threatened.
"Our colonel is asking you a question, have you become mute?" mocked one soldier, echoing the frustration of his superior. The disdain in their voices grew, "Heh, to dare to disrespect our navy like this. You really are asking for death."
The colonel waved off further discussion dismissively, "No need to waste words with him, just capture him!" As Lin Yan continued to ignore their colonel, the navy soldiers' fury built up like a storm ready to burst.
At last, the impatient navy soldiers made their move, reaching out to apprehend Lin Yan. But in that critical instant, Lin Yan's voice cut through the tension, clear and resonant, "I'm giving you a chance to leave this place!"
His words halted the soldiers momentarily, their movements pausing as a wave of mockery spread among them. "What is this guy rambling about? Giving us a chance? Isn't that the other way around? You think you're worthy? You really think you're somebody?" Their faces filled with scorn as they laughed at Lin Yan, confident in their numbers and strength.
"You won't cry until you see the coffin!" one soldier taunted.
Even the navy colonel shook his head, dismissing Lin Yan's threat as mere bravado. However, their smug smiles were wiped away when Lin Yan's demeanor shifted dramatically. "Buzz~~~!" Around him, a series of lightning bolts emerged as he raised his hand, his face utterly calm, and declared, "So be it!"
In an instant, a terrifying field of thunder and electricity radiated from him, spreading swiftly to the surroundings. The magnetic field was dense, the electricity swift, and powerful lightning burst forth. The Rumble Fruit erupted, its unleashed power instantly sweeping away the five hundred soldiers gathered around him in a severe explosion that echoed across the sky.
Smoke billowed, and gunpowder filled the air as amidst the swirling smoke, Lin Yan stood quietly in place, unflinching. Beneath his feet, the soldiers who had been clamoring earlier were now silent. The entire scene turned utterly quiet, not a sound to be heard except for the fading echoes of the blast.
Only the colonel had barely withstood Lin Yan's sweeping lightning. Gasping for breath, his face pale and his eyes wide with shock, he looked around at the devastated scene, trembling uncontrollably. "You... who are you..." he managed to ask, blood spilling from his mouth.
"You don't need to know," Lin Yan replied coolly, his tone final as he raised his hand, sending another bolt of lightning to ensure no further challenges came from the navy personnel at the scene.
For Lin Yan, this was just a minor episode in his adventures. After swiftly dealing with the navy, he turned his gaze in the direction Bonnie had fled earlier.
Meanwhile, Bonnie, having successfully shaken off the navy thanks to the chaos Lin Yan created, was caught off-guard by his presence. On a large rock in the distance, Lin Yan stood looking down at her, his figure imposing yet familiar.
"Please explain to me the meaning of leading a Disater to me, I need a reason!" Lin Yan called out, his voice carrying across the distance to where Bonnie had stopped in her tracks, her heart chilling with the realization of who he might be.
Bonnie, momentarily at a loss for words, suddenly recalled the navy forces that had been pursuing her just moments ago. "Where's the navy?" she asked, her voice reflecting her shock and awe.
"What do you think?" Lin Yan responded quietly, his gaze intense and probing.
"You took care of all of them?" Bonnie's mouth dropped open in disbelief. The realization hit her—Lin Yan was no ordinary pirate; he was the newly appointed 17th division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, a fact that made his actions both terrifying and awe-inspiring.
"It's you!!" Bonnie exclaimed, recognizing him not just as a powerful ally but as a major player in the pirate world. "You are the division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates!"
As the reality of Lin Yan's identity sank in, he sat down cross-legged, facing Bonnie with a calm that contrasted sharply with the storm he had just unleashed. "Now, you can answer my question. What did you mean by leading trouble to me earlier?" His voice was steady, demanding an explanation for her earlier actions.
