บท 230: Chapter 230 Snape: I understand!

Snape's countenance was too dark to look at.

Playing with who?

With that stupid Potter?

Have I gone mad, or have you gone mad?

Or has the world gone mad?

Go out and ask around, would I, Severus Snape, ever fucking play with someone with the family name Potter ...?

It's just that ...

There was no doubt that Snape was a very brilliant wizard.

After Dumbledore had already said the words 'he's going to deal with Voldemort' himself personally, it was surprising that he was still training Potter, the one who was prophesized to end Voldemort.

This suggests that Dumbledore doesn't have a sure-fire way to win.

Or maybe ... there are some things that only Harry Potter can do.

Snape's expression grew a few shades more sombre.

"Is there any danger?" Snape inexplicably asked.

Snape wasn't someone who didn't know what was important, Harry Potter was Voldemort's destined enemy, there were some things he couldn't avoid, and he would have to face them sooner or later.

But Snape didn't want Harry to be in danger.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have gone undercover next to Voldemort at this juncture.

Dumbledore was silent for a moment.

Harry is one of Voldemort's Horcruxes and is bound to die - at least for once.

To prevent Harry from dying, Dumbledore was already thinking of countermeasures.

"There may be danger," Dumbledore said in a heavy tone, not wanting to deceive Snape.

"There may be danger?"

Snape's tone was filled with mockery, he looked very impatient, "So you kept him, trained him, to let him face that danger one day?"

In Snape's opinion, it may have been Harry's destiny to confront Voldemort, but it should be a destiny that should not be arranged by anyone else.

Dumbledore closed his eyes in pain.

There were times when one must face choices, when one chose one thing, they must be prepared to lose another.

All of it - that choice only exists in the ideal.

Continue to let Voldemort live, and then one day he will abruptly resurrect and continue to wreak havoc in the magic world, bringing disaster to this world ...

Or make a few sacrifices and finish off Voldemort once and for all?

Granted, no one has the right to arrange for others to make sacrifices, but being in Dumbledore's position, there are some things he has to do.

Because there's no one else in the wizarding world to do it but Dumbledore.

Otherwise, who would do it?

Would Fudge be forced to fight Voldemort?

"That's why I must let Harry grow up as quickly as possible."

Dumbledore looked at Snape with a serious face and said in a sincere tone, "Only by letting Harry grow up as soon as possible will we have a chance of eliminating Voldemort."

Snape calmed down a little as he queried, "What exactly do you need him for?"

Dumbledore looked out the window a little out of breath, "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies..."

"The Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... "

This prophecy, Snape, had also heard it before.

But he only heard the first three sentences, and then he ran off to tell Voldemort.

Snape didn't realize that the back of the prophecy was the key.

This prophecy pained Snape so much because it was his snitching that had led Voldemort to murder Lily's family.

But if analysed from the perspective of 'predicting the future', Snape's snitching was actually part of 'the future'.

It was a future that was bound to happen, and if it wasn't Snape, it would have been someone else.

Because Voldemort wouldn't be running around marking his arch-enemy with gusto if he didn't know the first three lines of the prophecy.

Of course, the only reason Voldemort believed in the prophecy and that someone could defeat him was solely because Dumbledore believed it.

So Dumbledore is also a part of the prophecy.

"Only one can survive ... Only one can survive ... Only one can survive ... Only one can survive ..." Snape mumbled several times in a row.

There was some cruelty in the prophesized truth, and particularly for Snape, the prophecy was even crueller.

"Severus!"

Dumbledore's tone was heartfelt, "The prophecy has already happened, and the mark ... We need Harry."

After a while, Snape finally calmed down.

Only one of the two can survive ...

This was good news for Snape.

"A power Voldemort doesn't know ... What's that?" Snape asked.

Snape assumed that Dumbledore would need to use that power.

But what he didn't realize was that that mark was what mattered to Dumbledore.

"It's love!" Dumbledore said.

Snape: "..."

"You want to use love to defeat the Dark Lord?" Snape's tone dripped with ridicule.

Dumbledore had always preached love, and Snape had thought it was just a form of quality education - after all, he is the Headmaster, so while teaching is important, upbringing is just as important.

But now you're telling me that you're going to use love to defeat Voldemort?

Hmm?

Was it magic that Lily had left behind?

At the thought, Snape's mood suddenly improved.

Sure enough, Lily was the best.

Just that stupid Potter doesn't even qualify as a saviour.

"In this world, we live in, emotion is the only power that can transcend dimensions."

Dumbledore said slowly, "It's a power that Voldemort doesn't understand!"

"I understand!" Snape said faintly.

If you are talking about love, I don't necessarily understand it.

But when you are talking about Lily, then I must understand it better than anyone else.

Dumbledore: "?"

Do you really understand?

"I don't understand, but you've decided to take matters into your own hands ..."

Snape suddenly asked, "Why would you need to use this power?"

Dumbledore sighed slightly inwardly.

The power was important, but that mark was the most important.

"Severus ..."

Dumbledore's voice sounded a little tired, "I will tell you everything when the time is right."

Snape scowled and stopped pressing the issue.

He already knew more than enough for today.

What's more, he could investigate on his own.

Speaking of investigating ... Andy Collins' face suddenly popped up in Snape's mind.

If the Potter father and son occupied the top two places on Snape's loathing list, then Andy must at least be ranked in the position of six or seven.

In front of Andy, there were Sirius, Lupin, and the Dwarf-Peter trio.

He felt fortunate that he didn't manage to kill Sirius last time; he wanted to kill him with his own hands.

Back to Andy Collins ...

There was some speculation in Snape's mind, 'That Collins kid, could he have already figured out the secrets?'

Snape felt a little unconvinced.

'Maybe I should give it a try ...,' Snape thought to himself.

If Andy didn't know, there was nothing to lose. But if Andy knew ... then it would be a big profit.
