The day of the award ceremony finally arrived, and Matthew was filled with excitement and nerves. He had been nominated for several prestigious awards, and he was eager to see how he would fare against the best young players in the world.

As the ceremony began, Matthew's name was called as a nominee for the NxGn award. He walked up to the stage, his heart racing, but ultimately, he didn't win. He finished third, behind two talented players from Europe.

Next up was the Golden Boy award, and again, Matthew was a nominee. He didn't win this one either, finishing second behind a skilled young player from Spain.

Although he didn't win the international awards, Matthew's achievements in his league were recognized. He won the EFL Young Player of the Season award, as well as the Young Player of the Month and Player of the Month awards.
