Chapter 78: Sharon and Bernadette

June 24th, Sunday.

At 8:30 p.m., Hastur had the chef prepare his signature dishes and sent someone to buy some drinks and aged wine.

According to Maric, Sharon likes drinks with a sour and sweet taste, while he prefers wine, the blood-like color of which makes him feel his complexion also becomes rosy.

Hastur thought about it but didn't want to burst his bubble; it was clearly the alcohol talking.

Around nine o'clock, there was a knock at the door. Hastur personally went to greet the visitor. Besides him, there was no one else in the hall.

He had dismissed the servants and maids in advance, letting them go to rest, even the butler Neil did not show up.

"Hastur, your house is really nice, much bigger than where we live."

Maric walked in naturally, while Sharon lifted the hem of her black silk dress and curtsied slightly before entering the door.

Sometimes, Hastur truly felt that if it weren't for the Mother Tree of Desire causing trouble, Sharon would have been a delicate and elegant princess.

Her every word and action were always filled with grace and composure, as if nothing could stir her heart.

She seemed a few years younger than Maric, but she was calm and composed in her actions, the one who made decisions.

Of course, it might also be that Maric's intelligence was not that great.

The three of them took their seats. Maric naturally poured himself some wine, swirled the glass, admired the color of the liquid, sniffed it, and then took a light sip.

"Mmm, it's a notch above the wines in the bars, not bad," Maric said, satisfied, and downed it in one gulp.

Hastur said with some regret, "The time was a bit rushed, otherwise I could have prepared better wine."

Noble families usually have wine cellars or similar places to store wine. The Campbell family used to have one, but it was all consumed.

Hastur didn't like drinking much, so he didn't collect any fine wines, only some common ones to entertain ordinary guests.

Those wines tasted very average, so he had someone go out and buy some good wine to come back.

"No worries, I can wait for your next banquet."

"I will not disappoint you."

"Speaking of which, isn't it boring living alone in such a big house?"

"If you and Miss Sharon are willing to move in, I would be very welcoming."

"Forget it, let's not trouble you, we're not suited to settle down right now."

"There will be a day for a peaceful life."

Hastur and Maric chatted over food and wine, while Sharon just watched quietly, silently sipping the specially prepared drink, rarely speaking.

When the wine was half-finished, Hastur suggested going up to the study to talk.

After all, the hall was not a good place for more private conversations.

Sharon and Maric did not refuse.

In the study, the copper mirror was still there. Sharon chose to sit directly opposite the mirror, occasionally glancing at her reflection.

Hastur sat in front of the desk, Maric on the other side, facing Hastur.

"You should know that I am good friends with Greck from the Nigan family, and I've learned quite a bit from him."

Seeing Hastur's serious expression, Maric also became solemn, and Sharon also turned her gaze towards him.

"Recently, you'd better not go to the Brave's Bar anymore, try to find a safe place to hide."

"What exactly do you know?"

"Your enemies, the Hedonists of the Rose School, might send high-ranking powerhouses to Beckland."

This was Hastur's guess based on the information exchanged between the Mother Tree of Desire and the Lamp Genie.

By now, Bernadette should have arrived in Beckland, and she has been targeted by the Rose School. That divine being is very likely to be near Beckland as well.

He probably won't enter Beckland, but he will definitely linger nearby, looking for a chance to capture Bernadette and take the Wishing Lamp.

The trade between the Mother Tree of Desire and the Lamp Godinvolved the Judgment card and the Black Emperor card. As the daughter of Emperor Roselle, even if Bernadette doesn't hold one of the Tarot cards, she might know their whereabouts.

The Rose School's action against Bernadette is certain.

Maric frowned and thought for a while, then said, "If the people coming are only of the fourth sequence, they will have a hard time catching me and Sharon in Beckland."

Hastur glanced at Sharon and said, "What if the comer is above the fourth sequence?"

Maric shook his head, "Impossible, Mahamz and Zatwen are the main leaders of the Highland Rebels, they should not be able to leave the Southern Continent."

Sharon pondered for a moment and said softly, "There's one more, Jax, he is a third-sequence Silent Disciple, but Maric and I are not important enough for a third-sequence to chase us to Beckland."

Hastur thought for a moment and said, "Emperor Roselle had a saying, 'When the city gate catches fire, the fish in the moat suffer.' Perhaps you are the small fish that got affected."

He did not directly say that the divine being Sua might be lurking near Beckland.

Even if they wanted to force Bernadette out of Beckland, there would be angels of the third or second sequence to help.

This is a major event related to the Mother Tree of Desire 's descent to Earth, a supreme oracle!

The Rose School might mobilize all its forces.

"Hastur, what exactly have you heard!"

Maric stood up, his face ugly, his expression somewhat agitated.

Even if a half-god of the fourth sequence came to Beckland, he and Sharon would have to stay far away, and if it were stronger extraordinaries, they would basically be unable to avoid them.

"I'm not clear on the specifics either, just be careful, try to stay near the Saint Samuel Church during this time."

Hastur still did not tell the whole truth, mainly because Sharon and the others had connections with Bernadette, and their relationship might be quite good. He could not directly say that the Rose School was targeting Bernadette.

If so, Bernadette would definitely focus on him.

Even just revealing this bit of information, he had already taken quite a risk.

"Thank you." Sharon looked at Hastur, sincerely thanked him, her eyes unusually soft.

Maric sat back down, his tone heavy, "Sharon, should we leave Beckland now and hide outside for a while?"

"I think you are safer staying in Beckland right now," Hastur vetoed the proposal.

The divine being Sua is lurking outside, and if they are not careful, Sharon and Maric could be easily dealt with.

By this time, even Maric, as foolish as he was, knew that Hastur knew more information, it was just inconvenient to tell them.

Sharon nodded, "We will be careful."

After leaving Hastur's house, Sharon asked Maric to go back to their residence to wait, as she had a friend to meet.

Near the Beckland Bridge, the Tasok River meandered past, the riverbanks lush with aquatic plants, rarely visited by people.

Under the crimson moonlight, Sharon drifted over like a wraith.

Her black Gothic court dress made her appear even more mysterious and extraordinary in the night.

After waiting quietly for a while, Sharon suddenly looked up at the sky.

In a world invisible to the naked eye, strands of green pea vines fell from the sky, intertwining into a dense forest.

Such a natural scene, out of place with the nearby high-rise buildings and chimneys, was like a beautiful fairy tale conjured up by imagination.

Despite not being her first time seeing this scene, Sharon still envied it a little.

No girl hasn't fantasized about being a princess living in a castle, sketching out a beautiful fairy tale kingdom in their childhood fantasies.

Now, a fairy tale kingdom had opened its doors to her.

A pair of feet in black boots descended from the pea vines, accompanied by a gentle voice.

"Little Sharon, you're in such a hurry to find me, is there an emergency? Or, have you missed me and wanted to catch up?"

Sharon glanced at the black boots, their aura clashing with the surrounding fairy tale kingdom, instantly shattering her beautiful fantasy.

"The Rose School has people chasing to Beckland, I need a safer place."

"Come up, it's indeed not very safe here."

Sharon took a few steps, grabbed a pea vine, and as the vines flipped up and down, the scenery changed, and she was already in mid-air.

Below her feet was a cloud platform woven from green pea vines, and ahead was a small house built entirely of pea vines, some of which bloomed with small flowers, white or pink, beautiful as a fairyland.

There, a figure stood at the door of the small house, quietly watching her.

This person was the mysterious queen who roamed the seas.

Just the bounty in the Kingdom of Ruin was worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

This was a fortune that could make one comfortable for life.

But neither the navies of various countries nor the vicious pirates could claim this bounty; instead, her fame spread across the seas.

She met this mysterious queen at an extraordinary gathering, and after a few encounters, they got along quite well, and their relationship gradually became closer.

"I just encountered people from your Rose School, I was thinking of telling you, but it seems Little Sharon, you are equally well-in

"I just encountered people from your Rose School, I was thinking of telling you, but it seems Little Sharon, you are equally well-informed."

Bernadette stepped forward, reaching out to pat Sharon's head.

Sharon instinctively stepped back half a step, tilting her head to avoid those slender jade hands, and said indifferently, "Just call me Sharon."

"Little Sharon, it sounds so endearing, it makes us seem very close."

Sharon didn't bother to correct her again and asked seriously, "Who exactly has the Rose School sent this time?"

Bernadette's smile faded, and she furrowed her brows, "There are quite a few, but the strongest should be the Curse King, Baranca."
