บท 42: Together

As the scene shifts, the portal flickers with brilliant light, a swirling vortex of shimmering energy. Alexander and the others stand before it, ready to step through into the unknown. Eve, now restored with her blonde hair and red eyes, stands tall beside Seraphina, who seems tense but determined. Adam lingers behind them, his usual cold expression unchanged. Xiao Ling, Ty, Kane, Commander Cooper, and Lieutenant Lastimosa are also present, their eyes locked on the portal that will take them to the Celestial world.

Dr. Jin gives a nod, and the shimmering portal stabilizes. An angelic figure steps out from the light. She is radiant, her wings a soft golden glow, and her silver hair flows down her back like a waterfall. She looks ethereal, her presence commanding, yet peaceful.

"Welcome," the angel says, her voice melodic but firm, carrying a sense of both serenity and strength. "I am Elysia, and I will guide you to the meeting with the Archangels."

Alexander, always straightforward, glances over the angel with a raised brow. "An angel as our guide, huh? Alright then, let's get this over with," he mutters, still somewhat casual but clearly focused.

Elysia motions for them to follow, stepping back through the portal. One by one, the group crosses over. As they step through, the sensation of weightlessness envelops them for a brief moment, and then they land on the other side, where the Celestial world unfolds before their eyes.

The landscape is breathtaking. The sky is a mixture of vibrant blues and golds, dotted with glowing celestial bodies and soft clouds that seem to float just above the ground. Towering structures of marble and gold rise up from the horizon, their spires stretching towards the heavens. Angels, adorned in shining armor, glide effortlessly through the air, watching over the divine city below.

The group is silent, momentarily taken aback by the sheer beauty of the place. Eve, usually composed, allows herself a brief glance around, her gaze lingering on the divine structures. Adam, however, looks unimpressed, his expression remaining cold and unreadable.

Elysia leads them along a path that winds between the glowing trees and shimmering waters. As they walk, the air is filled with a peaceful hum, as if the world itself was alive with harmony.

Finally, they arrive at a grand hall made of gleaming crystal, its doors open wide. Elysia turns to face them.

"Beyond these doors are the Archangels, who have called for this meeting. They await your presence," she says, bowing slightly.

Alexander steps forward, glancing briefly at his companions. "Let's go," he says, his voice steady but with an underlying edge of readiness.

As they enter the hall, they are greeted by the towering forms of the Archangels, each one radiating immense power and authority. At the center stands Michael, his wings larger and more radiant than the others, with eyes of gold that seem to pierce through to the soul. Surrounding him are Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel, each representing their own dominion.

The air in the room is heavy with purpose, the Archangels watching them with a mixture of curiosity and caution. Michael steps forward, his voice echoing with divine authority.

"You have come to seek our aid," Michael says, his gaze landing firmly on Alexander and Eve. "But first, we must hear your intentions. Speak, and let us decide if your cause is worthy of our intervention."

The room falls silent, awaiting their response, as the weight of this celestial judgment looms over them.

Commander Cooper stands tall, his military demeanor unwavering as he addresses the Archangels. "We came to assist you in the defense against the Shadow Empire. This invasion is a significant threat, and we believe that if we stop them here, we will gain the upper hand in the war," he explains, his voice steady and confident.

Seraphina steps forward, her fiery spirit shining through as she adds, "We cannot allow them to consolidate their power. This is their primary invasion, and if we strike now, we can cripple their resources and morale. This is our chance."

Alexander's expression remains cool and calculated as he speaks up, the weight of his words heavy in the air. "But allow me to make ourselves clear," he states, glancing around at the Archangels and his comrades. "We're not here to help out of the goodness of our hearts. By assisting you, we will be saving ourselves… nothing more, nothing less."

The Archangels listen intently, their expressions inscrutable. Michael narrows his gaze, assessing the motivations behind Alexander's words. "Your honesty is appreciated, soldier. The fight against the Shadow Empire is a shared burden, and all allies have their reasons for joining this cause."

As the conversation unfolds, the atmosphere shifts. The frontier soldiers and warriors begin to gather alongside the Celestial armies, forming an impressive line of defense. The vibrant colors of their armor and the glint of weapons reflect the light of the Celestial world, creating a powerful display of unity against a common foe.

Elysia watches the gathering troops, a sense of pride swelling within her. "The alliance between our worlds has always been strong," she remarks, glancing at her fellow Archangels. "Together, we have faced many challenges, and today will be no different. The courage of the frontier soldiers inspires hope in our people."

Eve, standing beside Adam, scans the horizon, her red eyes fierce with determination. "We cannot allow the darkness to consume our worlds. This is our moment to rise and show them the strength of our united front."

As the Celestial armies and frontier forces prepare for battle, a palpable energy courses through the air. The sound of armor clanking and weapons being drawn creates a battle-ready atmosphere.

Commander Cooper addresses the gathered troops, his voice booming across the crowd. "Soldiers! Today we fight not just for our lives, but for our families, our homes, and the very essence of our worlds! Stand together, and we shall push back the tide of darkness!"

With a roar of agreement from the soldiers and warriors, the line of defense grows stronger.

Michael steps forward, raising his hand to silence the crowd. "Before we engage, know this: the Shadow Empire is relentless and cunning. Their strength lies not just in numbers, but in their ability to manipulate fear. We must fight with resolve and courage, for it is our unity that will become their downfall!"

The Archangels and leaders of the frontier forces stand together, united against the impending darkness. The ground beneath them trembles slightly as the armies prepare, the air thick with tension and anticipation.

As the moment approaches, Alexander's mind races, contemplating the battle ahead. He knows that this fight is crucial—not just for their survival, but for the future of both their worlds.

The final preparations are made, and the sun begins to set, casting an ethereal glow across the Celestial world.

"Are we ready?" Alexander asks, his eyes narrowing as he looks at his companions, awaiting their response.

Eve grips her sword tightly, her resolve solid. "We fight together. This time, we won't let fear dictate our actions."

With a nod from the others, the soldiers prepare for the battle that awaits them, united in purpose as they stand on the brink of conflict.

As Ty approaches Alexander, her expression is soft yet serious. "Can we talk for a moment?" she asks, a hint of concern in her voice. Alexander nods, and they begin to walk side by side, the atmosphere lightening as they engage in small talk and share smiles. The camaraderie between them is evident, a bond forged through years of shared battles and experiences.

Ty glances at him, a warm smile on her face. "You know, your strength is what makes you truly special. It has been an honor fighting alongside you all these years and raising you like my own child." Her voice turns more earnest as she continues, "But remember, the strongest souls are often sent to the darkest places. It's in the dark where you become the strongest version of yourself."

Alexander raises an eyebrow, sensing the shift in tone. "You sound like you're giving me a warning, Ty. What are you trying to say?"

Ty takes a deep breath, her gaze steady. "You won't be the same. You will be tortured—physically and mentally. The battles ahead will push you to your limits."

A shadow crosses Alexander's face, the weight of her words settling in. "And what if I don't come back from that? What if I lose myself?"

Ty's expression softens, and she reaches out to place a comforting hand on his shoulder. "When you get out, you'll be unrecognizable. But be aware—you might lose yourself; you might turn into something else, something worse. Just remember, when you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back at you."

Alexander nods, the gravity of her warning resonating within him. He knows the darkness that lies ahead, and he can feel its pull. "I'll keep that in mind, Ty. But what if I can't fight it?"

Ty's gaze locks onto his, her eyes filled with both resolve and compassion. "Promise me this: when you're ready to move on from your past trauma, become a warrior of your own right. Push forward with all your might."

His heart swells at her words, the weight of her faith in him igniting a fire within. "I promise, Ty. No matter how dark it gets, I won't forget who I am—or who you are to me."

Ty smiles, a mixture of pride and sadness in her eyes. "You're not alone in this, Alexander. No matter what happens, I'll always be with you."

Alexander chuckles softly, his expression lightening momentarily. "Aren't you only in your mid-thirties? I always saw you more as an older sister than a mother."

Ty raises an eyebrow, a playful smile creeping onto her face. "Is that so? Well, I might be in my thirties, but I've been through enough to earn some motherly wisdom. Besides, you were like a little brother to me long before you ever became a soldier."

He smirks, shaking his head. "A little brother? You make me sound like I'm still in diapers."

Ty laughs, a warm, melodic sound that brings a brief reprieve from the weight of their conversation. "Hey, we all start somewhere. You've just grown up a lot faster than most. But that doesn't mean I'll ever stop looking out for you."

Alexander nods, appreciating the bond they share. "I guess I just have to get used to it. I'll take my big sister's advice any day, but let's be real—you'll always be the one worrying about me."

Ty's smile softens as she responds, "And that's a role I'll gladly play. Just remember, no matter how tough things get, you've got family behind you. That includes me."

With a newfound sense of determination, Alexander replies, "I won't forget it, Ty. I'll carry that with me into battle."

Ty looks at Alexander with a determined expression. "I'm assigned to the Western front. I heard you're going to the main front."

"Yes, I am," he replies, his tone steady.

Ty nods, a spark of hope in her eyes. "Let's wish each other luck… no, we will meet again."

"We will meet again, and that's a promise," Alexander affirms, a smile breaking across his face.

In a moment of camaraderie, they both laugh, their spirits momentarily lifted by the connection they share. As they walk side by side toward their respective positions, they raise their fists, giving each other a firm fist bump.

"Stay safe out there, okay?" Ty says, her voice softening for a moment.

"Always," Alexander replies, confidence radiating from him despite the uncertainty ahead.

With one last shared glance, they part ways, each stepping into the unknown, but carrying the strength of their bond within them. The weight of the impending battle looms large, but in their hearts, they hold onto the belief that they will fight through it and find their way back to each other.
