Wallace's gaze softened as he looked at the frightened boy, Elion. The child's wide eyes glimmered with fear and desperation. However, Wallace remained vigilant, his instincts alert to any potential danger.

"Don't worry, Elion," Wallace repeated, his voice gentle. "We'll get you to safety."

Suddenly, the boy's expression shifted, a glint of malice flickering in his eyes. Before Wallace could react, Elion lunged at him, a hidden blade glinting in his small hand. Wallace's reflexes kicked in, honed from years of combat experience. He sidestepped the attack and grabbed the boy's wrist, twisting it sharply.

Elion let out a gasp of pain, his eyes widening in shock. "You... you knew!"

Wallace's expression hardened. "I suspected something was off. Who sent you?"

The boy struggled, but Wallace's grip was unyielding. "You'll never understand," Elion hissed.
