For a moment Erick's gaze froze by the sudden notification but he regained his bearing soon enough. Hecate thought his reaction was due to her last comment and just gave him time to digest everything she shared with him.

'I was level 17 but the immediate 5000 exp brought me to level 18 and the absorption of mana so far leveled me even further up.'

Contrary to what Hecate thought, Erick was ecstatic to see his rapid advance. This was after all what he had hoped to gain by going after a warbeast.
