บท 3: Please Don't Do It

(TYLER)

I thought I was in my worst situation when I overdosed. But now, I'm sure I was wrong. I spent almost a month at the hospital recovering from Jake's attempt to kill me. Yes-kill me. That's what he tried to do, but lucky for me, I was in the universe's good graces.

Jake knew quite well that I was an addict, and I can't really blame him for using me in exchange for the drugs, because if we're being honest, I let him. But taking advantage of my addiction to try and kill me was extreme. He knew the much I had taken, and he knew that if I took more of it, I'd be gambling with my life. And he sure as hell knew I couldn't resist the offer.

I still can't come to terms with the fact that he tried to kill me just because a condom broke. But truth be told, that's what it was.

It's been three months since the overdose. Sometimes, I still get nightmares of me struggling on the floor while Jake just stared at me and refused to help. But the real nightmare was what my doctor told me at the hospital. Turns out Jake's suspicion was right, but it still doesn't justify his attempt at getting rid of me. I am pregnant.

The first thing that came to my mind on hearing the news was getting rid of the baby. Don't get me wrong, I'm not evil-I just don't think carrying the devil's spawn sits right with me. When I asked the doctor for abortion referrals, he laughed at me and told me that our society didn't fancy getting rid of healthy babies.

Not that the one in my stomach was healthy, it wasn't by a long shot. That I knew, and I didn't even need any confirmation.

Also, part of me felt like our alpha omega-society was selfish-entitled. They had no right to force me to carry a child I damn well knew I couldn't take care of. I had had more than enough of my fair share of a tough life, hopping from shelter to shelter, having no place to call home.

I dont care about the Satan's spawn in my stomach like that. I'm just not heartless enough to bring it into a world where I can barely take care of it. I mean, I can't even take care of myself.

Once or twice, I thought of taking those concentrated concoctions, the ones rumored to get the job done. Other times I thought of throwing myself down the stairs. I was that desperate, yet none of those options were appealing. Yes, I was willing to do anything on the face of this earth to rid myself of this baby, I just didn't want to off myself in the process.

After all, Jake had shown me I feared dying.

I got rumors about someone who can do it for a price. Sure, it will be high, but what wouldn't I do to save myself? I have since stopped using, not because I can't or because I care, its because I'm saving the little I have for this doctor's appointment. Besides, drugs would eat up whatever I'd managed to save in a jiffy.

"Hey," I turn at the sound of fingers snapping from across the bar. It is another alpha calling out to me. He has his arm around another uneasy-looking omega. I pity the omega because that's what our lives have been reduced to. We had no say in how alphas treated us. "Get me another cold beer." He shouts.

"Alright, in a minute," I reply to the alpha and set off to get him the drink. After coming from the hospital, I sought a job here at Molly's. It is Mason's bar, barely hanging by the thread and almost on the brink of closing down. However, a few customers come in sometimes. Mason lets me work here because he pities me, but mostly because I'm cheap.

Yes, he is using me too.

He makes me work graveyard shifts because they are super slow. I think he also lets me work at Molly's because he pities me. But knowing what's at stake, I gladly take the job. I don't care that I get peanuts for pay, so long as I can save enough to handle my problem.

A few minutes later, I come back with a beer and head to the alpha's table. "Here's your beer." I offer him the drink and I catch the omega's gaze while at it. He looks everything but comfortable. "Would you like a drink too?" I ask him.

"No." the alpha answers instead, shooting him a glare that doesn't need an explanation then back at me. "He's fine."

I feel irritated, but I know better than to show it. Besides, I have my own problems to deal with. I nod gruffly. "Okay."

Grabbing his bottle of beer, the alpha looks at me, scanning me from head to toe and back. But a fear jolts in my spine when his eyes stop at my slightly rounded belly. I had taken to wearing oversized clothes and I was always in aprons. That was the reason I also chose to work behind the bar where no one could really take a close look at me and realize I was pregnant.

I quickly get back behind the bar and pretend to fumble with other orders, but he gets up and follows me. He leans sheepishly over the counter. I feign courage that I don't really have and return his gaze with a sharper one.

"You're pregnant." He scoffs, and my eyes go wide.

"What? No." I reply almost immediately. "What the hell?"

We both know it's a lie, and I'm trying so hard to tell my brain this isn't happening, or even if it does I'll find a way out. I always do. But that is hard right now because if Mason learns about my pregnancy, he is definitely going to fire me. He doesn't fancy pregnant omegas working at Molly's because it would ruin the eye candy factor. Also, he needs the alphas coming by to make profit. He isn't going to let any omega ruin it for him, especially with the bar on the verge of closing down.

"Liar!" he spits, pointing at my bump.

My face is hot, and as much as I'm trying to hide it, it doesn't quite work out like I intend to.

"Shhh." I hiss, knowing so well he's a jerk and probably won't shut up.

The alpha looks at me condescendingly, and I begin to grow gooseflesh. What the hell was I supposed to do if I lost this job? I have no real skills and barely even know how to mix drinks. The only skill I can fumble is waiting tables, and there are tons of applicants for those. My chances of landing the job would be slim, especially now that my bump was protruding.

"Look, I really need this job," I say. I hate how my tone comes off desperate, but there isn't much I can do about it. "I'll give you another free beer if you just keep your mouth shut."

The alpha's lips twist into an evil smirk. I can

tell his answer won't be positive. That's what alphas are good for. Tormenting people. I hate them.

"Beer? Hah! It'll take me more than a lousy bottle to keep my mouth shut, omega…" he glances at my name tag. "…Tyler." He adds.

"What do you want?" I ask, glancing around uneasily hoping no one gets wind of what we're talking about.

"We can work something out… you know." He says, grabbing his crotch and biting his bottom lip.

I soon realize that he means a blowjob. I can't do that. That would also cost me my job. It's not that I can't. I have given that to countless alphas for drugs. Here I am walking with evidence even. Mason hates employees who break the code just as much as he does pregnant omegas.

"I'm sorry, I'll lose my job, I can't," I say.

One thing about alphas is they don't negotiate. They think we're at their disposal, for them to use us however they wish and us not having a say about it. I can tell that's the case with this rogue alpha. Jake's baby is already causing me enough stress as it is, and this one, too, won't leave me alone.

"You already have a date. Why don't you ask him instead?" I add.

"And you'll sure lose that job you care so much about if Mason learns about this." He says, pointing to my belly.

I swallow thickly. "I'm not doing that with you."

"Well then, I'm telling the manager." He says, looking around the almost empty bar for a sign of Mason. He soon notices him talking at the far end with another customer.

"Please don't do this―"

I've barely completed my sentence and his fingers are already snapping in the air. Mason looks in our direction and replies with a curt nod. I already know by the gaze he shoots me that he doesn't like what's coming. He talks to the customer for a short while before coming towards us.

"Please, you don't have to―" I plead with the alpha. But he doesn't care.

"You had your chance, sorry." He remarks, looking at me condescendingly.

"Hello," the alpha says extending a hand to Mason who shakes it. "I've been a long-time customer here you know…"

Mason nods. "Yes, yes. You are a VIP customer here. I know" Mason replies looking indifferent. "Is there a problem?"

"Yes." The alpha says pointing at my stomach. "This omega is pregnant."

Mason's eyes drop to my stomach then meet mine again, wide with horror.

"You're pregnant, Tyler?"
