She raised an eyebrow. "Not with you, Bruce."

"Your loss, Washington," he said with a smirk, getting up. "But if you change your mind, you know where to find me."

Dami watched him saunter off, her mind racing. Why was he here? What was Dominic planning? She took another sip of her drink, scanning the room for her friends.

Jen was chatting animatedly with some guy near the bar, and Sara and her boyfriend were on the dance floor, looking blissfully unaware of any drama.

Her gaze drifted back to Matthew, who was now leaning against the bar, watching her.

There was something disconcerting about the way he seemed so at ease, like he had all the time in the world to play whatever game this was.
