Nighttime crime-fighting and self-training occupied only a part of Maverick's time. Most of his time was spent on research and entrepreneurship.
Through continuous research and communication with his company's researchers, both the biotech and communications technology divisions achieved significant progress.
First, in the biotech division, Maverick, based on his previous research and subsequent developments, invented an ointment named Trauma 01.
This product is mainly used for external injuries and comes in different varieties based on the type of damage.
For example, there are versions specifically for mechanical injuries such as cuts, falls, and animal bites.
There are also versions for chemical injuries, such as burns and scalds.
Centered around this ointment, they developed a series of products to meet the needs of both households and hospitals for treating such injuries.
The launch of Trauma 01 quickly helped Maverick's pharmaceutical company gain a solid foothold and begin rapid growth. Market feedback led to further refinements in the products, allowing Zero Pharmaceuticals to quickly capture this market segment.
Once the product gained popularity, the military's attention turned to Zero Pharmaceuticals.
To secure military contracts, Zero Pharmaceuticals introduced a special military version of Trauma 02, which was 50% more effective than the commercial version.
The military was highly satisfied with this special product, opening a lucrative sales channel for Maverick.
Beyond external injury treatments, the company developed internal injury medications and various other types of drugs, setting the stage for smooth future collaborations.
In addition to the biotech division's success, the communications technology division also made significant strides.
Based on Maverick's vision for smart phones, they designed a full-screen smartphone marked with a Möbius strip symbol, naming it Möbius Generation 1.
Although limited by the era's technological development, the new smartphone had some flaws. However, its sleek and simple design, along with innovative features, completely revolutionized people's perception of mobile phones.
(Much like the shock brought by Apple's original product launches)
This smart, full-screen phone quickly became a sensation, significantly boosting Zero Industries' reputation.
The tangible impact on the public and the fact that it was a groundbreaking product made the attention garnered by the Möbius Generation 1 far exceed that of Trauma 01.
While this intense focus brought tremendous benefits to Zero Industries, it also attracted many malevolent interests.
During this period, Maverick had to skip several classes to manage these issues.
He emphasized the importance of steady development and brought in numerous high-level talents to upgrade the company's management.
These cautious measures, coupled with the established military connections, finally stabilized the situation.
After handling all these affairs, Maverick felt more exhausted than after fighting ten lizard men, but the successes achieved made him immensely happy.
If Old Yorke were still around, he would surely be very proud.
In the top-floor office of Fisk Tower in New York City, Kingpin was listening to Alistair's research report, eyes closed, contemplating something.
Suddenly, the floor-to-ceiling bulletproof windows were shattered by a pumpkin bomb, accompanied by a wild, maniacal laugh from outside.
"Hehehehe! Hahahaha! It's showtime, dear Fisk. Are you ready?" As the voice echoed, a yellow-masked villain on a glider burst through the shattered window. It was the Goblin, hired for assassination.
Seeing the sudden appearance of the Goblin, Kingpin did not feel a shred of fear or panic. Calmly waving his hand, many fully armed fighters instantly appeared from various parts of his office.
They fired their laser guns at the Goblin continuously, while the Goblin swiftly dodged and used his upgraded flying device to harvest the lives of these people. Some were pierced by lasers, while others had their throats slashed by sharp blades.
"Hahahaha! Hehehehe!" As the Goblin laughed wildly at his own handiwork, a strange-looking cannon from a hidden corner had already taken aim at him.
"Bang!" With a loud cannon shot, the Goblin's sinister laughter abruptly stopped as he was trapped in a large, sturdy metal net on the ground.
The netted Goblin was also separated from his flying device and fell heavily to the ground. As he lay there, dazed and shaking his dizzy head, the armed men with guns quickly surrounded him, aiming at his head.
"Hey! I think this is a misunderstanding." The Goblin raised his hands awkwardly, no longer showing the previous arrogance, fearing that Kingpin would order his execution.
To be honest, he did not expect this surprise attack to yield such a poor result; instead, he found himself firmly captured by the opponent.
Though he had killed many people, the other side did not care about these casualties, believing that as long as he was captured, everything would be worth it.
Thinking of this, the Goblin also put away his previous disdain for the strong figure in the distance; this person was truly ruthless.
Seeing the Goblin subdued, Kingpin stepped out from his layers of guards, then looked at the Goblin and said solemnly, "Did you think I wouldn't be prepared for your attack, you costumed clown?"
"Now, tell me who hired you." Kingpin sat down on a specially designed boss chair nearby and asked.
"I think this secret should be worth my life, right? After all, there is no irreconcilable hatred between us; I was just doing a job for money," the Goblin did not immediately answer, knowing that valuable information should be exchanged for something equally valuable.
He only wanted to save his own life and maybe promote his mercenary services.
Hearing the Goblin's words, Kingpin chuckled lightly, as if he had heard a funny joke. "It seems you really are a clown, quite talented at telling jokes."
Then, suddenly putting away his smile and looking at the Goblin with an oppressive gaze, he said, "You should know, no one negotiates with me."
Hearing Kingpin's words, the Goblin's heart tightened, worried that the other side might be a psychopath who would kill him even without knowing who hired him.
