They both sat on the grassy ground under a tree in their yard, the only ones at home.

Dolls and toys were scattered around them, but they both seemed lost in thought.

Even when they tried to play, the best they could manage was to lethargically hit the dolls against each other, mimicking conversations and stories.

Rayna rarely visited or came home, working relentlessly and always denying their worries about Erebus, dismissing their fears with unhesitating certainty.

"Umm..." Riona remained speechless, scratching her cheek with her finger, looking to the side, and holding an awkward expression.

Despite her many doubts about what happened to Erebus, Riona had always trusted Rayna wholeheartedly.

She tried to keep Machaira's spirits up, which once seemed as easy as drinking water.
