บท 138: Chapter 109.1 : New Member!!
Roubaul's magic disappeared, and suddenly, all the people at the Cait Shelter vanished.
Just a few minutes ago, the village was full of life, bustling with activity. But now, it was silent—almost eerily so.
Erza glanced at Everit again, her eyes urging him to do something. After all, this is about deception.
Everit sighed. Just because he was good at deception magic didn't mean he knew how to untangle the feelings of those who had been deceived.
As he once said: "When you've been deceived, that's when you trust the liar the most."
Right now, Wendy would rather live in the lie forever than face the painful truth. But how could he comfort her in this situation?
She had to find her own way out of this.
Erza looked at him once more, and this time, her gaze was more intense—almost a warning.
Reluctantly, Everit accepted the task. He walked over to Wendy and softly asked, "Wendy, is there really nothing left besides the sadness?"
"Mr. Everit," Wendy looked up at him, her eyes swollen from crying.
"Shouldn't you also feel touched?" Everit gently placed his hand on Wendy's shoulder. "An old man, who should have died four hundred years ago, created a warm, caring village for a lonely little girl. He gave you a wonderful childhood."
"But, Wendy, people have to grow up eventually. Just like young birds, one day, they have to fly on their own."
"You're moved by what Grandpa Roubaul did for you. But now that you've grown up, it's time for you to do something that will move him in return. Let him go with peace of mind."
"What can I do?" Wendy asked through her tears.
"Life is a journey," Everit explained. "You'll encounter new things, but eventually, they'll be resolved. You'll meet new friends, but in time, they'll go their own way. You'll see new places, but you'll eventually leave them behind. You might even buy a house and think of it as your home, but that house can be destroyed, moved, or abandoned."
Everit then added, "But there's one thing that will never leave you—like the sun, like the moon, like a warm blanket on a cold night."
He spoke solemnly, "Bring Mr. Roubaul and everyone's spirit with you, and join Fairy Tail. We'll become your family for life. No matter how much the world outside changes, family will always be the place where a traveler finds peace and a way home."
"Wendy!"
Wendy threw herself into Everit's arms, crying out, "Please let me join Fairy Tail!"
"Welcome," Everit replied with a gentle smile.
"That's right. Let's share the burden together," Erza said, squatting down to comfort Wendy by holding her shoulders.
"In Fairy Tail, everyone is kind. No matter what happens, no one abandons their friends," Lucy added, feeling deeply moved.
"Welcome, Wendy," Natsu said with a smile.
"Mr. Roubaul, don't worry. We'll take good care of Wendy and Carla," Gray assured him as he approached.
"Carla, I'll get stronger and protect you," Happy promised, trying to comfort Carla.
For once, Carla wasn't in her usual proud mood. She leaned on Happy's shoulder without even realizing it.
This made Happy freeze in place. His face lit up with excitement, but he didn't dare to move, afraid that the beautiful creature resting on his shoulder might fly away.
After having breakfast at the Cait Shelter, everyone said their goodbyes and headed back.
Lucy held three keys in her hands, looking very happy.
These were the Zodiac keys that had belonged to Angel. During their previous battle, the celestial spirits saw how much Lucy cared for them and were all willing to sign a contract with her.
After crying, Wendy and Carla were soon cheered up by Everit's magic tricks, and they didn't stay sad on the way back. They were both strong and smart girls who couldn't be underestimated.
"We're back!"
Natsu and Gray, one on each side, kicked open the guild doors.
The guild, which had been somewhat quiet, suddenly burst into noise.
"Natsu, haha! Why are you all covered in bandages? You must've gotten beaten up badly," everyone teased.
"No way!" Natsu rushed forward, not willing to admit defeat.
Not surprisingly, a great battle broke out.

Chaos erupted in the guild as everyone started fighting, and Gray joined in.
"Ah—" Erza sighed, pulling out her sword and shield. She slammed them down forcefully.

The loud sound, like a bell, shocked everyone and made them stop in their tracks.
"Erza..." Seeing her serious face, everyone swallowed nervously, feeling a deep fear.
"There are new members here. Don't scare them," Erza said calmly.
It was only then that everyone noticed the cute little girl hiding behind Erza.
"Why?"
"She's so adorable!"
"Is she a new member?"
The guild members exclaimed.
"And that cat, it looks just like Happy!"
"Don't compare me to that tomcat!" Carla said, clearly displeased.
"He can talk too?!" The guild members were even more surprised.
"Wendy, please introduce yourself," Erza and Lucy encouraged her with warm smiles.
Gathering her courage, Wendy stepped out from behind Erza. Though shy, she did her best to stay calm.
"Hello everyone, my name is Wendy, Wendy Marvell, and this is Carla."
"So cute!!!" everyone cheered.
Wendy felt relieved. It seemed like everyone had accepted her.
"Miss Wendy, it's nice to meet you," a gentle voice spoke. It was Mirajane, a beautiful white-haired woman, who greeted Wendy softly.
"It's Miss Mirajane!" Wendy said excitedly. "Look, Carla, she's even more beautiful than in the photos!"
"Oh no, Miss Wendy, you're very cute too. You'll surely grow up to be a great beauty," Mirajane said with a kind smile.
She glanced at Carla, carefully examining her. After confirming there were no injuries, she turned back to Wendy and Carla, saying, "Miss Carla looks a lot like Happy. They must be the same species."
"Aye!" Happy exclaimed with excitement.
"Even though I don't want to admit it..." Carla muttered, a bit downcast.
"So, what kind of magic does Miss Wendy use?" Mirajane asked curiously.
"I use Sky Dragon Slayer Magic. I'm a Sky Dragon Slayer," Wendy replied truthfully.
