After ensuring his woman was fast asleep, Maverick couldn't help but sigh with contentment as he took her to their private house. 

He wanted to enjoy this evening with her, and hearing her genuine laughter fill the air as she enjoyed the ride was everything he needed to hear to keep his mind sane. 

Maverick knew things were taking a darker turn. Whether things were turning for better or for worse was hard to decipher, given how discoveries about Valencia's curse were coming forward. 

"What happened to Luna, sir? She was fine when she went to the forest," Liam and Shadow rushed as soon as they saw their alpha carrying their Luna inside the pack with their Luna's clothes all soiled up. 

Maverick rolled his eyes.
