The battle between Byakuya and Crocodile had the undivided attention of everyone present.
The outcome of their fight would determine the overall victory of the entire conflict.
Naturally, Lucci and Blueno were confident that Byakuya would emerge victorious.
However, when they saw Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, utterly powerless against the mysterious man.
He was mercilessly beaten to the point of nearly committing suicide by abandoning his Devil Fruit powers and allowing himself to be killed.
It was a shocking sight for the members of Baroque Works.
For them, this was a devastating blow. If even their leader was no match for the opponent, there was no point in continuing the fight.
Within moments, most lower-ranking Baroque Works members began to flee like frightened animals, terrified that the mysterious man might target them next if they didn't escape quickly enough.
Watching their retreat, Byakuya let out a contemptuous laugh. "Trying to run?"
"If I let you all escape, wouldn't that make this whole day a waste of time?"
In an instant, Byakuya turned into a blur, and it seemed to each fleeing member that he appeared right in front of them simultaneously.
Before they could even scream, they were struck down by a cherry blossom-like wave of Haki that pierced through their heads, killing them instantly.
During this time, Byakuya was pleasantly surprised to find that using a combination of Shigan (Finger Gun) and Ryuo (Flowing Sakura) was remarkably effective for dealing with this small fry.
Under Byakuya's almost ghostly speed, the fleeing members fell like wheat being harvested, collapsing in droves.
In just a few breaths, the Baroque Works agents were reduced to only Daz Bonez, who was fighting Lucci, and a few high-ranking officers tangled with Blueno.
"Hmm, where's Robin?" Byakuya scanned the area, realizing he hadn't seen her among those he had just taken down.
Having spent years evading the World Government's pursuit, Robin had honed her skills in hiding and escaping to perfection.
When she saw that Crocodile was no match for Byakuya, she had already planned her escape.
While Byakuya repeatedly defeated Crocodile, Robin slipped away through a secret passageway known only to her, leading back to the casino.
When Robin emerged from the passage, there was no sound from outside, which made her breathe a sigh of relief.
That mysterious man was truly terrifying. Crocodile had been driven to the point of choosing 'suicide'—their battle had been a one-sided slaughter.
If that man had set his sights on her, death would be her only option.
However, since she hadn't participated in the fight, Robin hoped she wouldn't draw the mysterious man's attention.
Deciding quickly, she thought it best to leave the desert while he was still occupied with the remaining Baroque Works agents.
Despite this, Robin felt no ill will toward the mysterious man. If anything, she owed him gratitude.
After all, Crocodile's coercion forced her to join Baroque Works in the first place.
Moreover, she knew Crocodile's true objective was the ancient weapon, Pluton, but she had no desire to see such a dangerous weapon fall into the hands of a power-hungry man like him.
In a way, Byakuya's intervention had allowed her to break free from Crocodile's control.
However, she knew that her life would likely return to a cycle of endless running and hiding.
Robin couldn't help but let out a self-mocking smile but quickly pushed aside her gloomy thoughts.
She returned to her room to gather her belongings, but as soon as she stepped out of the casino, she froze, her eyes filled with unspeakable terror.
The mysterious man who had easily defeated Crocodile stood at the entrance as if he had known she would appear there.
Even though she knew she was no match for him, Robin wasn't one to surrender without a fight. Crossing her arms in front of her, she softly said,
"Seis Fleur: Clutch!"
This was the strongest attack she could muster at the moment.
Six pristine white arms sprouted from Byakuya's body. They gripped his neck, arms, and legs, trying to bend them backwards and snap his bones.
"Tsk tsk, Robin is still a bit reserved. She won't go for the vital spots on a man," Byakuya remarked.
The six arms exerted all their strength, trying to twist Byakuya's limbs.
But despite Robin's effort, which flushed her face red, she couldn't make Byakuya budge even a little.
Byakuya calmly said, "Your strength is too weak; it's not even enough for a massage."
With that, his body shook slightly, and the six arms shattered instantly.
Seeing that Robin wanted to continue her attack, Byakuya stopped her, "Don't waste your energy. I'm not going to kill you right now."
"If I wanted you dead, do you think you'd still be standing here?"
Hearing this, Robin lowered her arms and let out a bitter smile, saying, "Is this the sorrow of the weak?"
Byakuya bluntly replied, "For someone as weak as you, at least you have some value, which allows you to survive in the chaos of the seas."
"Most weaklings don't even have the right to survive." Robin immediately understood why the mysterious man hadn't killed her on sight.
She could read the Pyneglyphs, the ancient texts that the World Government had been hunting her for all these years.
This was why she had survived for so long. "Let's go. The battle over there should be over by now."
Byakuya turned and began walking out of the city, and after a moment of hesitation, Robin hurriedly followed.
Faced with a choice between life and death, she decided that any rational person would.
As Byakuya emerged, he saw Lucci, whose hands were now covered in the jet-black Armament Haki, delivering a powerful Rokuougan that shattered the steel blades Daz Bonez had been using for defence.
The impact sent Daz Bonez flying several dozen meters away, where he collapsed, coughing up blood, and died on the spot.
After finishing off Daz Bonez, Lucci didn't rest. He quickly rushed over to assist Blueno in removing the remaining Baroque Works officers.
With Lucci's strength and his newly mastered Armament Haki, dealing with these officers was as easy as slicing through vegetables.
The two of them swiftly eliminated all the remaining officers.
In other words, except for Robin, the entire Baroque Works organization, including Crocodile, had been completely wiped out in a single day.
Robin looked gravely at the corpses scattered around her.
Although she had no affection for these people, they had all worked together at Baroque Works for years.
Now, she was the only one left alive, and she had no idea when the others might decide she was no longer useful and eliminate her.
In the end, she wasn't much better off than the others. At most, she would die a little later.
