บท 7: Bus Ride And Diagon Alley

With a flick of her wand, Professor McGonagall summons the Knight Bus, which materializes in a burst of purple light and a resounding bang. Nigel's eyes gleam with intrigue as he beholds the fantastical transport before him.

The Knight Bus screeches to a sudden halt just in front of a them, its purple exterior gleaming under the sunlight as the doors swing open with a hiss, revealing the eccentric interior bustling with activity and energy.

The doors of the Knight Bus swung open, revealing a bustling interior filled with a cacophony of noise and a whirlwind of activity. Nigel's eyes widened in amazement as he stepped onto the magical transport, his heart pounding with excitement. The eccentric décor, the vibrant colors, and the lively atmosphere enveloped him, igniting a sense of wonder within his soul.

As the bus lurched forward, swerving around corners with dizzying speed, Nigel's grip tightened on the nearest railing. His stomach churned with a mix of exhilaration and trepidation, his senses overwhelmed by the chaotic ride. Yet, amidst the chaos, there was a thrill—a thrill of adventure, of stepping into the unknown, of embracing the magic that surrounded him.

Beside him, Professor McGonagall remained composed, her demeanor calm and collected despite the wild ride. She observed Nigel with a hint of amusement, knowing that for him, this was a new and exhilarating experience. With each twist and turn of the bus, she could sense his growing excitement, his spirit soaring with each passing moment.

As the journey continued, Nigel's initial apprehension gave way to pure exhilaration. With each leap of the bus, he couldn't help but laugh, his joy infectious as he surrendered to the whims of the magical transport. And amidst the laughter and the chaos, there was a sense of camaraderie—a bond forged between them as they embarked on this extraordinary journey together, bound by the magic that connected them all.

As they stepped down from the bus in front of the Leaky Cauldron.

By seeing the location of leaky Couldron Nigel asked

"Professor, why is it out in the open like this? I mean, there are muggles around, shouldn't there be some problem?" Despite knowing the answer due to my past life memories, I asked, displaying my curiosity.

"A good question indeed. You see, this area and the Leaky Cauldron are enchanted. To a regular muggle, it appears rundown, and because of the charm, if they happen to come near it, they will suddenly be distracted and change their direction. And for parents whose children are magical, they have to be in the company of a wizard," answered McGonagall.

"Thanks, Professor," I expressed my gratitude for her response by thanking her.

As Nigel and Professor McGonagall stepped into the Leaky Cauldron, the patrons turned their heads to greet them with nods and smiles of recognition. Tom, the friendly bar owner, spotted Professor McGonagall and greeted her warmly.

"Ah, Professor McGonagall, good to see you again," Tom exclaimed, his voice booming over the chatter of the pub. "The usual? And who might this young wizard be?" he added with a wink, a twinkle of amusement in his eye.

Professor McGonagall smiled graciously at Tom's gesture. "No, thank you, Tom. We're here on Hogwarts business," she replied, her tone professional yet warm. "And this is Nigel Black, a promising young wizard I'm introducing to our magical society."

With that, they bid farewell and resumed their trip.

As they stood before the seemingly ordinary brick wall, Professor McGonagall turned to Nigel with a serious expression.

"Mr. Black, pay close attention now," she instructed.

"To enter Diagon Alley, you must tap the correct brick with your wand. It's crucial you remember this for future visits."Nigel nodded, his gaze fixed on the wall before him.

With a determined look, Professor McGonagall raised her wand and tapped the designated brick, while Nigel observed intently. The brick wall rumbled and shifted, revealing the hidden entrance to Diagon Alley. Nigel's eyes widened in amazement as he followed Professor McGonagall into the enchanting world beyond.

As they entered Diagon Alley, Nigel's eyes gleamed with excitement, darting from one enchanting shop to the next. The bustling street was alive with the chatter of children and parents, all bustling about, preparing for the upcoming school year at Hogwarts. His gaze lingered on the displays of spellbooks and magical wands, each one promising adventure and discovery. Professor McGonagall led the way through the crowded streets, her calm demeanor contrasting with Nigel's bubbling excitement.

"Professor, what about money? The letter doesn't mention it, and your personal visit suggests there's a way for an orphan like me," Nigel inquired, his tone tinged with curiosity and concern.

"Indeed, Mr. Black, you've quickly analyzed the situation and drawn conclusions very well. As you see, the Ministry is responsible for providing allowances for students' needs," Professor McGonagall responded, acknowledging Nigel's perceptiveness.

"So, where are we headed now? Which shop do we visit first?" Nigel asked eagerly, his excitement palpable.

"Calm down, Mr. Black. We aren't visiting any shops just yet. We're heading to Gringotts, the wizarding bank," replied Professor McGonagall, her tone calm yet authoritative.

"Oh, I see. For my allowance," Nigel concluded, trying to piece together the puzzle.

"No, Mr. Black, your situation is quite different," Professor McGonagall replied stoically, hinting at the complexities yet to be revealed.

"What's different, Professor?" Nigel inquired, his voice tinged with curiosity and a hint of apprehension.

"You see, Mr. Black, you're an orphan, but your family – the esteemed Black lineage – has seen generations of wizards. Regrettably, some met their early demise in the war, while others faced accusations," McGonagall replied with a chill in her tone, her mind briefly drifting to the turbulent past.

"What past war, and what about my parents? Are they alive, or do I have any relatives?" Nigel's inquiry was laced with eagerness, though he concealed it well behind a façade of composure. His mastery of occlumency allowed him to maintain a composed exterior, masking his true emotions from even a veteran like McGonagall.

"Not here, Mr. Black. Let's step inside the bank. There, we can delve into the details and conduct your heritage test to uncover any familial connections," McGonagall responded, her hand resting reassuringly on his shoulder as they approached Gringotts. Despite the weight of his inquiries, Nigel's eyes betrayed a deep longing for familial ties as they ventured towards the wizarding bank.
