บท 123: Why is this here

As they prepared to move to the next floor, Ritsuka couldn't shake off the questions swirling in his mind. Why was this specific knife here? What did it mean? Was it just a coincidence, or was someone deliberately leaving these clues for him?

He glanced at the knife again, feeling its familiar warmth. "This knife... it can't just be a coincidence. Someone wants me to find it. But why?"

Altera looked at Ritsuka with concern. "We'll find out soon enough, Ritsuka. We need to stay focused on the task at hand. The answers will come."

Sigurd nodded in agreement. "We need to be prepared for anything. Whoever left this knife might be trying to help us, or they might be leading us into a trap. We can't afford to let our guard down."

As they ascended the staircase to the next floor, the landscape began to change once more. The scorching desert gave way to a lush, green forest, filled with the sounds of wildlife and the scent of fresh foliage.

Ritsuka took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing thoughts. "This place... it's completely different from the last floor. It feels almost peaceful."

Brynhildr surveyed the area cautiously. "Don't be deceived by appearances. Peaceful places can hide the most dangerous threats."

The group advanced through the forest, staying alert for any signs of danger. The sunlight filtering through the trees cast a serene glow, but Ritsuka knew better than to let his guard down.

As they walked, Ritsuka continued to ponder the significance of the knife. The sun's energy within it felt like a connection to his past, but also a link to something greater. He couldn't help but wonder if this journey was leading him towards a deeper understanding of his own powers and the role he was meant to play.

As the group heard something, rustling from the bushes caught their attention. Suddenly, BB emerged and hugged Ritsuka.

Ritsuka was sent a bit flying. "Well, guys, we found you."

From the same bushes came Passionlip and Meltryllis, also stepping out into the forest.

Ritsuka looked at them, relieved. "BB, Passionlip, Meltryllis! It's good to see you all."

BB smiled mischievously. "Did you really think I'd leave you to have all the fun without me?"

Passionlip shyly nodded. "We were worried about you, Senpai."

Meltryllis crossed her arms. "It seems we've all ended up in this strange place together."

Altera surveyed the group. "Now that we're all here, we need to stay focused. We still don't know who or what is behind these trials."

Ritsuka nodded in agreement. "Right. We need to find the next floor guardian and figure out why we're being put through these tests."

The reunited group continued their journey through the forest, the presence of BB, Passionlip, and Meltryllis boosting their spirits. As they walked, Ritsuka couldn't help but feel that their reunion was more than just a coincidence.

BB grinned. "Don't look so serious, Ritsuka. We'll get through this together, just like always."

Ritsuka smiled back. "You're right. With all of us working together, there's nothing we can't overcome."

As they ventured deeper into the forest, the atmosphere began to change. The air grew cooler, and the sounds of wildlife faded away, replaced by an eerie silence. They knew they were getting closer to the next challenge.

Eventually, they reached a clearing where a massive, ancient tree stood at the center. Its roots spread out like tendrils, and the air around it seemed to shimmer with magical energy.

Ritsuka stepped forward cautiously. "This must be it. The floor guardian must be here."

Suddenly, the ground beneath the tree began to rumble, and a figure emerged from the shadows. It was a towering beast with glowing eyes and a menacing presence.

The group readied themselves for battle, knowing that this guardian would be even tougher than the last.

BB summoned her powers. "Let's show this guardian what we're made of!"

Passionlip and Meltryllis prepared their attacks, while Ritsuka and the others drew their weapons.

The battle was intense, with the guardian's powerful attacks pushing them to their limits. But with their combined strength and determination, they managed to wear it down.

Finally, with a coordinated strike, Ritsuka and his companions defeated the guardian. The beast let out a final roar before collapsing, and the magical energy around the tree began to dissipate.

As the dust settled, a staircase appeared, leading up to the next floor.

Ritsuka looked at his friends. "We did it. Let's keep moving forward."

With renewed determination, the group ascended the staircase, ready to face whatever challenges awaited them on the next floor. They knew that as long as they stuck together, they could overcome anything.

Ritsuka looked at BB. "BB, can you connect with the Moon Cell?"

BB shook her head. "No, Ritsuka. I've tried to connect with the Moon Cell, but it's not working."

Altera nodded in understanding. "Just like me, then."

Sigurd turned to BB. "Is Edmond with you?"

BB sighed. "Nope. When I came out of the portal, I was already on the 6th floor. Edmond wasn't with me."

Ritsuka furrowed his brow in concern. "We need to find him. We can't leave anyone behind."

BB placed a reassuring hand on Ritsuka's shoulder. "We'll find him, Ritsuka. But for now, we need to focus on getting through these floors."

Passionlip chimed in. "Maybe we'll find Edmond on one of the upper floors."

Meltryllis nodded in agreement. "We should keep moving forward. Staying here won't help us find him."

Ritsuka took a deep breath and nodded. "You're right. Let's keep going and find Edmond as soon as we can."

The group continued their journey, determined to reunite with Edmond and uncover the mystery behind these strange trials. As they moved toward the next challenge, they steeled themselves for whatever lay ahead, knowing that their strength and unity would guide them through.

Ritsuka and everyone looked around the forest, expecting another beast of some kind. Suddenly, the ground broke apart, sending everyone flying. Emerging from the fissure was a giant worm, and they all stared at it in disbelief.

Ritsuka pulled out his sword. "Well, things can't get any worse," he muttered.

Just then, wings sprouted from the worm's back, and it started to use the elements, soaring 60 feet into the air.

Ritsuka stared at the worm. "The universe hates me."

He channeled the flames of Amaterasu into an arrow and prepared to fire. He readied his signature Surya Arrow, aiming at the massive worm above.

"Everyone, get ready!" Ritsuka shouted, focusing his energy. "This is going to be a tough fight!"

Ritsuka took a deep breath, channeling his energy as he faced the colossal worm. His eyes glowed with determination, and he prepared to unleash his full arsenal of powers.

"Everyone, spread out and attack from different angles!" Ritsuka commanded.

Ritsuka began by using his shadow control, summoning tendrils of darkness from the ground. The shadows wrapped around the worm's wings, attempting to bind it in place. The worm struggled against the restraints, but Ritsuka held firm.

Next, he unleashed his Amaterasu flames, black fire erupting from his hands and engulfing the worm's lower half. The flames burned with intense heat, causing the worm to writhe in pain. However, it quickly countered by conjuring a torrent of water to douse the flames.

Undeterred, Ritsuka activated his shadow travel, disappearing into the darkness and reappearing above the worm. He summoned a barrage of rune magecraft symbols, each glowing with ancient power. The runes exploded upon impact, creating bursts of light that disoriented the beast.

As the worm retaliated with a flurry of elemental attacks, Ritsuka used his vampire powers to enhance his speed and reflexes, dodging the incoming strikes with ease. He then called upon his blood control abilities, manipulating the blood within the worm to slow its movements and weaken it further.

With the worm temporarily immobilized, Ritsuka summoned his sun magecraft, drawing upon the power of the sun itself. He formed a blazing spear of sunlight and hurled it at the worm's head, the impact creating a blinding explosion.

The worm shrieked in agony, its wings faltering as it crashed to the ground. Ritsuka landed gracefully, his allies regrouping around him.

"Is it over?" Sigurd asked, eyes scanning the area.

Ritsuka shook his head. "Not yet. Stay alert."

The worm, now severely weakened, made a desperate attempt to strike. Ritsuka anticipated its move, summoning a final surge of power. He combined his shadow and sun magecraft, creating a devastating attack. The shadows entwined with the radiant light, forming a massive, dark sun that he launched at the worm.

The dark sun collided with the worm, enveloping it in a cataclysmic explosion. When the dust settled, the worm lay defeated, its body dissolving into nothingness.

Ritsuka breathed heavily, his powers exhausted but triumphant. "Everyone okay?"

His allies nodded, relieved but wary. The battle was won, but they knew their journey through the Moon Cell was far from over.

BB then looked at the worm. So wanna make it into one of your umbrel summons

Ritsuka just looked at her. I don't think it is possible sure it will make a powerful shadow but I don't think it will work

BB shrugged. "Suit yourself, Ritsuka. Just thought it might be handy to have a giant, flying, elemental worm on our side."

Ritsuka shook his head. "Let's focus on moving forward. We need to find Edmond and figure out who or what is controlling the Moon Cell."

As the group gathered their bearings, Ritsuka used his shadow travel to scout ahead, moving swiftly and silently through the darkness. The forest gave way to a vast, open plain, dotted with ruins and remnants of battles long past.

Ritsuka reappeared in front of his team. "The next area is clear for now. Let's move."

They continued onward, each step taking them closer to the heart of the Moon Cell. The atmosphere grew tense, the air thick with anticipation. They knew that more challenges awaited them, but they were ready to face whatever came next.

BB walked beside Ritsuka, her usual playful demeanor replaced by a rare seriousness. "Ritsuka, if we're going to find Edmond and take control of this situation, we need to be prepared for anything. This place has changed, and we need to stay on our toes."

Ritsuka nodded. "Agreed. We stick together, watch each other's backs, and don't let our guard down."

The group pressed on, their resolve unshakable. The mysteries of the Moon Cell loomed large, but they were determined to uncover the truth and reunite with their missing ally.

The group moved cautiously across the plain, eyes scanning for any signs of danger. The ruins around them whispered of ancient conflicts, their crumbling stones a testament to battles fought and lost.

Suddenly, the ground beneath them trembled. From the shadows of the ruins, a figure emerged, draped in a dark cloak. The air around the figure shimmered with a strange energy.

"Welcome to my domain," the figure spoke, their voice echoing ominously. "I am the one who controls the Moon Cell now. You have come far, but this is where your journey ends."

Ritsuka stepped forward, his eyes narrowing. "Who are you? What do you want?"

The figure laughed, a chilling sound that sent shivers down their spines. "I am but a shadow of what once was. My name is irrelevant. What matters is that you will not leave here alive."

Without warning, the figure raised a hand, and the ground erupted in flames. Ritsuka reacted instantly, summoning the black flames of Amaterasu to counter the attack. The two forces clashed, creating a fiery vortex that illuminated the dark plain.

"Everyone, be ready!" Ritsuka shouted, drawing his sword and charging at the figure. BB, Altera, and the others followed suit, spreading out to flank their opponent.

As Ritsuka closed in, he activated his shadow control, creating tendrils of darkness that lashed out at the figure. The figure countered with a barrier of light, but Ritsuka's shadows pierced through, forcing the enemy to retreat.

BB unleashed a torrent of digital attacks, her fingers dancing across the interface she conjured. Altera and Sigurd engaged the figure in close combat, their blades flashing as they struck with precision and power.

Ritsuka called upon his sun magecraft, creating a blinding sphere of light that he hurled at the figure. The explosion rocked the plain, but when the smoke cleared, the figure remained, albeit battered and bleeding.

"You are stronger than I anticipated," the figure admitted, their voice strained. "But you cannot defeat me."

Ritsuka smirked. "We'll see about that." He drew upon his rune magecraft, inscribing powerful runes in the air that crackled with energy. The runes combined with his shadow magic, forming a massive spell that he unleashed upon the figure.

The figure screamed as the combined might of Ritsuka's powers overwhelmed them. In a final, desperate move, they summoned a dark, swirling portal, attempting to escape.

"You're not getting away!" Ritsuka shouted, using his vampire powers to increase his speed. He reached the portal just as the figure stepped through, grabbing them by the cloak and pulling them back.

The portal collapsed, and the figure lay on the ground, defeated and broken. Ritsuka stood over them, his sword at the ready.

"Tell me who you are and why you're doing this," Ritsuka demanded, his voice cold.

The figure coughed, blood trickling from their lips. "You may have won this battle, but the war is far from over. The Moon Cell... it is beyond your understanding. Many forces are at play, and you are but a pawn."

With that, the figure's body dissolved into shadows, leaving behind only a whisper of their presence.

Ritsuka sheathed his sword, turning to his companions. "We need to keep moving. There's more to this than we know, and we have to uncover the truth."

BB nodded, her eyes serious. "Agreed. Let's not waste any more time."

The group continued their journey, their determination unwavering. The mysteries of the Moon Cell awaited, and they were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Altera then just looked at Ritsuka. I don't think he was the one controlling the moon cell

BB looked at her and nodded her head. So you notices as well Altera
