After a satisfying stroll, Ava sat in the car surrounded by bags full of snacks, her eyes crinkling in a wide grin as she munched on candy.
"You're really that happy?"
"Of course! Even if I don't eat them, just looking at them makes me smile," Ava said, clutching a pile of handmade sweets in her arms.
Back at home, they spent some effort hauling everything inside. Ava lounged on the living room couch, turned on the TV, and started snacking while Nathan watched her eat without joining in.
After a while, Ava noticed something was off. "What's wrong with you? You look like you're down."
"Nothing's wrong. Seeing you eat happily makes me happy too," Nathan smiled, offering Ava a strawberry.
"You're definitely hiding something. Spill, or else I'll start imagining things. And if I come up with something you can't explain..." Ava's cheeks puffed out adorably as she munched.
