Sinister's Island, Savage Land.
I must say, this is the second most exhausting battle I've ever fought, second only to my fight against the Celestial where I had to push my body to its limit. The Apocalypse Zombie wasn't an easy foe.
Each blow I land on his body causes significant damage, which is regenerated in mere moments. His blows also inflict great harm to my internal organs, which are healed by my magic. We are at an impasse.
(Continuing to fight with my fists will put me at a disadvantage!)
I dodge one of his blows and summon Sigel back to my hand, striking him squarely on his forehead, protected by the iron mask. I aim to end this fight by targeting the only protected spot on the monster, which might be his weak point. However, the blade of my spear, which can pierce and cut even Celestial armor, merely scratches the monster's mask. Seizing my shock, he lands a punch squarely on my face, shattering my entire skull and nearly destroying my brain.
I endure the pain and swing Sigel once more, this time aiming for his neck to separate his head from his body. Instinctively, the monster knows that his neck is also a weak spot and defends against my blade with his arm. Sigel almost severs his arm from his body, but gets stuck in the last few centimeters of his flesh, with the nanorobots within the Apocalypse's body healing his arm around my spear, giving me a strange sight.
I step back, pulling Sigel and creating another wound on his huge arm, which now fully heals. The monster attacks me again, now running towards me with his arms open, attempting to crush me in a bear hug. I pin Sigel to the ground and channel my power into my fists, ready for another direct fight.
(Even at a disadvantage, maybe I can destroy that mask with brute force.)
Just as I'm about to unleash several blows on him, I feel a sharp pain in my back, and when I look back, I see Sinister smiling like a devil at me.
(I forgot about that bastard!)
The blow didn't cause me significant damage, but it was enough to distract me, and the monster grabs me in a bear hug, starting to squeeze me, aiming to crush me to death.
"You're starting to make me angry!"
I speak to the monster with the iron mask, which tightens its grip more and more. I release energy throughout my body, trying to destroy his arms to escape, but his regeneration is as fast as my destruction. Then, I release power through my feet, causing both of us to fly into the air. My fight against him caused a lot of damage to this small island. I almost turned Logan into dust, so it's better to go somewhere more spacious.
POV: Third Person.
Sinister's Island, Savage Land.
During Baldur's Fight.
"Watch out!"
Rogue shouted to Nightcrawler as they dodged the invisible wave heading towards them. In front of them stood a man wearing an unimpressive silver armor with a large "A" on his chest, he was Dominic Petros, better known as Avalanche.
Avalanche was a mutant with the superhuman ability to generate powerful vibrations from his hands, creating highly destructive effects through the air, water, and earth, as if a force of pure and invisible destruction were unleashed by him.
"Sorry about this, folks, but I can't allow anyone to approach the castle, orders from the boss."
Petros said to the two mutants who were still trying to somehow approach him. Nightcrawler had a better chance of winning this fight, but when he teleported to Petros' back and tried to knock him down, he was hit by a shockwave head-on, causing him to collide with a tree.
"Your teleportation isn't very subtle, buddy."
He said to Nightcrawler, who was struggling to get up.
"On the other hand, you're quite skilled at getting close silently."
He turned his body to look at Rogue, who was now only inches away from him, with her hand coming towards his face. Petros wasn't stupid; he had received some information about the new students who might be here, and he knew Rogue's powers very well.
He then grabbed Rogue's wrist before she could touch him.
"That was almost game over."
He boasted victoriously while holding Rogue's wrist.
"You shouldn't be so cocky, sweetheart," Rogue retorted, twisting her wrist to break free from Petros's grip. She lowered her body and grabbed his leg from behind, pulling him towards her, causing Petros to fall backward onto the ground. Rogue then leaped on top of him, attempting to touch her hand to his face, the only part unprotected by his armor.
Petros anticipated her move and placed his gloved hand on Rogue's face, instilling fear in her.
"That stung a little. Allow me to return the favor," he said menacingly.
Just as Petros was about to unleash his powers point-blank, Nightcrawler teleported behind Rogue and used his tail to strike Petros's hand, causing him to release her. It all happened in a matter of seconds, but Rogue seized the opportunity and finally touched her hand to Petros's face, causing him to lose consciousness. After a few moments of adjusting to the newly acquired power, Rogue opened her eyes and looked at Kurt.
"We have to find the others," she said.
"I can't teleport us to them. Pyro burned a large part of the forest; we might end up in the middle of a fire."
"Then let's go on foot."
As the two ran as fast as they could toward the center of the island, they saw a huge and beautiful mountain surrounded by a forest on the horizon. But what truly caught their attention was an enormous spear, as golden and shiny as the sun, falling towards it.
"Oh my God!"
"Protect us!"
Rogue shouted as the spear struck the mountain, exploding upon impact. The golden light obscured their vision, and the shockwave caused by the blow headed toward the island, causing destruction reminiscent of a meteor strike on Earth. When the shockwave reached the lake where the island was located, it formed a massive wave that came toward them.
Rogue stood in front of Nightcrawler and emitted vibrations toward the wave, causing it to break, saving them. When everything calmed down, they only saw destruction ahead of them—all the trees from the mountain to the lake were destroyed, and the mountain on the horizon vanished, replaced by a massive crater.
"Do you think it was him?" Nightcrawler asked, still in shock from the sight before him.
"I have no idea who else could cause such destruction. Come on, we have to find everyone before that madman destroys everything."
The two ran even faster now, fueled by their panic.
Third Person POV.
Inside the Black Castle, Sinister's Island, Savage Land.
During Baldur's Fight.
Inside Sinister's facility, Ka-Zar and his companion Zabu, the sabretooth tiger, tread as cautiously as possible. After being attacked by the fire-controlling sorcerer, he took advantage of the distraction caused by the visitors and entered through the front door of the facility in search of his wife.
It wasn't an easy walk, as there were various traps along the way. Fortunately, Zabu's keen sense of smell and his knife were enough to navigate past the drones and other hidden traps. The same sense that helped them was also guiding them to a massive door.
Ka-Zar cautiously opened the door and found himself in a dimly lit area where he saw iron bars extending to the end of the corridor, a prison.
He walked through the cells trying to find his wife, the more he walked, the more he lost hope of finding her alive, since all the cells so far were empty.
"Roor"
Zabu growled softly as he looked at the farthest cell, and in it, he found a beautiful blonde woman lying on the floor sleeping, with her were about six people, some sleeping, and some awake looking at him.
"Shanna!"
He shouted, catching the woman's attention, who woke up and looked at him almost crying with happiness.
"Ka-Zar!"
She yelled and jumped into his arms in joy when he opened the cell.
"I was afraid I would never see you again."
She said relieved.
"Don't be foolish, of course I wouldn't leave you here alone. But we have to go now, we don't have time for conversation, we have to get out of here as soon as possible."
"Yes, I understand."
"Do you know if there's anyone else left?"
"Everyone who was here before was taken by the red-eyed demon upstairs and never came down again."
"The red-eyed demon is busy now, let's see if we can find a few more before escaping this cursed place."
Then the group calmly went to the upper floor where they entered a huge room full of glass objects and computers everywhere, in the center of the room, were two people trapped in capsules, both were with their eyes closed and naked, a muscular man with brown hair and a woman with long red hair, the capsules they were in had a screen showing the percentage increasing rapidly. The screen now showed eighty percent.
"It looks like they're the only ones still alive." Shanna said.
"Let's help them."
The group then broke the glass of the capsule and managed to remove the two of them from it, laying them on the floor, they were a little pale, but showing no signs of injuries. After a few seconds, the woman with long red hair opened her eyes.
POV: Third Person.
Desert, Savage Land.
During Baldur's Fight.
Amora stood facing Magneto who did not flinch with her teleportation, after living so many years, and seeing so many mutants with different powers, there aren't many things that can surprise him.
"I really don't know if you're a fool, or just stupid to think you could kidnap Baldur to get Genosha's technology."
Amora was the first to speak.
"I will do whatever it takes to ensure the future of my race. You, as a queen, should understand."
"My husband always says that it is the duty of sovereigns to ensure the safety and prosperity of their people, I on the other hand, for a long time thought that being a queen was just being revered and feared by those beneath me, of course he removed that idea from my mind."
"Your way of thinking is much like that of humans, I am really sad to know that there are other races with the same defects and destructive thoughts throughout the universe."
"All races in the universe are free to think as they please, this conversation is pointless."
In response, Magneto floated a few meters off the ground ready to start the fight, Amora also prepared herself placing her staff in front of her body.
