Sophie arrived at the villa, her heart heavy with anticipation. She had planned on meeting Luc the next day to see if they could patch things up, to see if there was still a chance for them. But as she approached the villa, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. The villa seemed eerily quiet, devoid of the usual sounds of life. She hurried to her room, weary from the day's journey and her impulsive move back to Provence. She was excited and anxious at the same time. She couldn't bear to imagine Luc's reaction if he saw her now. She laid on the bed, pushing her hastily packed luggage off the bed, and drifted off into an exhausting sleep.
That evening, Luc remembered that he had caught a glimpse of Sophie at the gates, hurried to her former room, hoping to meet her there. He knocked on the door, but there was no reply from within. He gently turned the door knob. To his surprise, it gave way. He made his way into her room, it smelled of her. He paused, oh how he had missed this scent. Gently he scanned the dimly lighted room for a any signs of her. His eyes fell on a somewhat familiar figure sleeping on the bed. He moved closer to check if it was her, it was. He found her there, sleeping peacefully. He watched her for a moment, the soft moonlight casting a gentle glow on her face. Despite everything that had happened between them, he couldn't deny the feelings that still lingered in his heart. He sat beside her, gently brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. She stirred, her eyes fluttering open. When she saw him, her eyes widened in surprise and then filled with tears.
Sophie thought she was dreaming when she saw Luc bending over her head and playing with her hair. She didn't want to wake up, she had to enjoy this moment because, she didn't know what her confrontation with him tomorrow will yield.
The electricity flowing through his fingers and unto her face snapped her out of her subconscious into reality. She opened her eyes. Luc was really here, he was sitting on her bed.
She sat up, catching his hands in hers and looking into his eyes. "Luc, I don't know what to say..." she stuttered, tears drowning the sound of her voice. "I wavered, I was confused, I thought I made the right choice for me, but it was wrong, for me, for us..."
Luc's heart skipped a beat as he listened to Sophie's words. He could see the sincerity in her eyes, feel the weight of her emotions in her touch. He had hoped for this moment, but now that it was here, he didn't know what to say.
"Sophie, I... I understand," he said, his voice barely a whisper. "I was lost, too. I thought I could move on, that I could make things work with Stephanie. But seeing you again, being here with you now, I know that was a mistake. I never stopped loving you, Sophie. I want to try again, to make things right between us. You don't have to explain"
Sophie's tears flowed freely now, a mix of relief and joy washing over her. She threw her arms around him, holding him tight. "Oh, Luc, I've missed you so much," she cried. "I want to try again, too. I want us to be together, to start over."
They held each other, the weight of their past mistakes and misunderstandings lifting off their shoulders. In that moment, they knew that they had been given a second chance, a chance to rebuild what they had once thought was lost.
As they sat there, wrapped in each other's arms, the sun began to rise, casting a warm glow over the room. They knew that their journey would not be easy, that there would be challenges ahead. But they also knew that as long as they had each other, they could overcome anything.
Luc tilted his head and brushed his lips on Sophia's. A reminder of what they both missed and wanted. The kiss was tender yet filled with the intensity of their emotions. It was a kiss that spoke of longing, of forgiveness, and of a newfound hope. As they broke apart, their eyes met, and they knew that they were truly meant to be together.
As their lips parted, a surge of desire washed over them. Luc's hands gently cupped Sophie's face, his thumb tracing her cheekbone, while Sophie's fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer. Their breaths mingled, the air charged with electricity.
Without breaking eye contact, Luc slowly traced a path down Sophie's neck with soft kisses, eliciting a soft moan from her. He moved his hands down to her waist, pulling her closer to him, feeling the heat of her body against his.
Sophie's heart raced as she felt Luc's hands exploring her, igniting a fire within her. She responded with equal fervor, her hands roaming over his chest, feeling the strength of his muscles beneath her touch.
Their kisses grew more urgent, more passionate, as they lost themselves in each other. The world around them faded away, leaving only the two of them, consumed by their love and desire.
As they finally broke apart, their chests heaving, they gazed into each other's eyes, their love and passion shining through. They knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together, a journey filled with love, passion, and a deep, unbreakable connection.
Luc gazed at Sophie's fingers, and when he saw his ring, he smiled. "This is where it's supposed to be," he whispered. "I'm where I'm supposed to be."
Sophie smiled back, her eyes shining with tears of happiness. "Yes, Luc, this is where we're supposed to be," she whispered, her voice filled with love and relief.
Then Sophie stared at him for a moment longer. "Who is Stephanie?" she asked.
Luc looked a bit shocked and perplexed, then a slow grin formed around his mouth. "Someone who'll never be you," he whispered, meaning every word as he looked into Sophie's eyes full of love.
Their embrace tightened, sealing their reunion and the beginning of their new chapter together. They knew that challenges would come, but they were ready to face them, hand in hand, knowing that their love was stronger than any obstacle.
