Sullivan's gentle voice broke through her thoughts. "What's wrong? You're taking a while to answer. I'm not teasing, Lia—I mean every word."

Her gaze softened. "Have you truly started trusting me?"

He chuckled, as if the question were absurd. "Yes. Why? Do you plan to betray me now?"

"Never," she replied firmly, her voice steady. "I'd be honored to be yours forever… completely."
