บท 43: Beginning of a new life.

Zhan's Pov.

I wake up to Wang's gentle touch on my shoulder. His lips graze my forehead as he kisses me, filling me with warmth.

"Green-eyes, wake up. We are home," he whispers again. His voice is soft and comforting, and I open my eyes to see his glowing blue eyes gazing down at me. I smile at him, and he takes my hand.

He leads me off the plane, and I see the breathtaking sight of open land surrounding us. There is no airport in sight, only rolling hills and wildflowers that stretch for miles in every direction. The sun is shining, and a cool breeze brushes against my skin. Wang squeezes my hand, and I feel warmth radiating from his touch. We walk together, and for a moment, I forget all the troubles in the world and just take in the beauty of the land around us.

Where are we? I asked Wang as we walked down the meadow.

Wang grins, his eyes twinkling with joy. "This is my family's ancestral home, in the mountains of Tibet," he says. "We are in a very special place, and I'm so happy to have you here with me."

After a few minutes of walking, a large castle appeared. The castle stood tall against the clear blue sky, its stone walls exuding grandeur and history. As we approached closer, the castle's intricate details came into focus. The massive wooden doors, adorned with ornate carvings, beckoned me to step inside and discover the secrets hidden within.

The castle's architecture was truly remarkable, showcasing a blend of different styles from various eras. Turrets soared high into the sky, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The castle's imposing presence commanded attention, as if it were a guardian watching over the land.

Do you live here? I asked Wang, still enjoying the place's beauty.

Wang smiled and nodded, his eyes twinkling with excitement. "Yes, this is my home," he said, gesturing at the castle. "My family has lived here for generations, and I'm glad you are part of its legacy now."

We stepped inside, and I was immediately overwhelmed by the mixture of ancient and modern décor. The walls were adorned with elaborate tapestries, paintings, and sculptures from different eras. Ornate furniture filled the large chambers, and the high ceilings were decorated with intricate chandeliers. I was amazed by the place's grandeur. As I looked around, I could not help but feel the history of the place—the generations of Wang's family who had lived here before. I felt the privilege of being a part of this legacy.

"Come, let me show you to our room. You can take a tour later." Wang pulls me towards the elevator.

As we step into the elevator, the doors slide shut, enclosing us in a small, mirrored space. I glance at Wang, who stands confidently.

The elevator doors open, revealing a spacious hallway adorned with elegant artwork and soft lighting. Wang leads the way, guiding me through the corridor. The walls are painted in a soothing pale blue, creating a tranquil ambiance.

As we approach the room, Wang retrieves a keycard from his pocket and deftly swipes it against the electronic lock. A meticulously designed space greets us as soon as the door clicks open. The room is bathed in warm, natural light streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a breathtaking view of the cityscape below.

The room is tastefully furnished, with a plush king-sized bed adorned with crisp, white linens taking center stage. A cozy seating area sits by the window. The walls are adorned with tasteful artwork, adding sophistication to the room.

Our bags were already inside.

"Here is your key to the room," Wang said, handing me a keycard.

So soon, I murmured.

"I told them to make one for you." Wang smiled.

Thank you. I smiled.

Wang pulled me into a corridor in the room, and I saw a walk-in closet.

"This is yours," Wang said, gesturing to the closet. "If you don't like anything, let me know, and my staff will pick it up."

"I've never had this many clothes," I murmured, tears welling up in my eyes. Wang smiled and wrapped an arm around me, pulling me into a hug.

"You deserve it," Wang said, kissing my forehead. "You can have whatever you want from now on." I smiled, feeling warmth spread through my body before he pulled away.

Wang carefully removed a painting from the wall, revealing a hidden compartment. He punched in a series of numbers on a small keypad, and a soft click indicated that the compartment wasunlocked. With a gentle motion, he pulled out a small gift box and turned toward me.

Wang slowly lifted the box lid. As the lid opened, my eyes saw a beautiful replica of my necklace. The color and intricate writing on the back were the same. In that moment, I realized Wang had truly met my mother.

A gasp escaped my lips as I marveled at the thoughtful gesture.

"What does she look like?" I whispered, trying to swallow the lump forming in my throat.

Wang gently handed me the necklace, and I slowly ran my fingers over the smooth surface.

"I know an artist who can be here tomorrow to make a painting of her, and maybe Liu would also remember what your dad looked like. We can paint both tomorrow." Wang said, his voice laced with emotion.

"That's an awesome idea," I said, my voice trembling. I paused for a moment, lost in thought. I had almost forgotten about my dad.

"Do you think Liu would remember?" I asked.

"Of course," Wang said, his face smiling.

Thank you, Wang," I whispered, my voice choked with emotion as tears streamed down my face. I couldn't help but embrace him tightly, seeking solace in his presence. Overwhelmed by gratitude, I silently conveyed my appreciation for his unwavering support.

"Let's go and ask Liu," I suggested. Myvoice was muffled against Wang's shoulder.

"Great idea; I will call the artist to inform him to come tomorrow. Also, you can call your friend," Wang suggested, his voice filled with genuine enthusiasm.

"Let's take the stairs," Wang said as we walked out of the room.

We entered the luxurious kitchen and saw Liu and Jackson sitting at an island table with half-cooked meat in front of them. They enjoyed their meal, and when we walked in, they looked up in surprise.

"Oh, you're here!" Liu said, getting up from his seat. "Join us, won't you?

We were just about to finish." Jackson added, gesturing at the table.

Liu, do you remember what Urza looked like? Wang asked.

Liu, squinting his eyes and raising an eyebrow, responded, I knew what Urza looked like but couldn't remember it precisely. He admitted to feeling confused. Urza's face is both stored in my memory and seemingly elusive at the same time. He whispered.

"He's a lich! What were you expecting? " Jackson replied.

"I'm sorry, I can't remember Zhan," Liu said, looking upset.

"It's okay," I murmured.

Wang squeezed my hand gently and pulled me closer. "Don't worry, I'll text the artist to come tomorrow," he reassured me.

I nodded in agreement. At least I get to see what my mother looks like. I knew this was a moment I would cherish for the rest of my life.

Wang texted the artist, and he agreed to come by 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.

The door opened and Meng and Yu Bin walked in. "All done," she said, and Liu smiled.

I called Cheng and excused myself. We talked for almost 30 minutes, and he was happy for me as I told him about the castle and the walk-in closet I now own. I thanked him for his support and wished him all the best in his future endeavors. Just as I said goodbye, Wang came in and whisked me away.

"I missed you," he whispered as he lifted me up and walked inside the house.
