บท 24: Walk

Marius, with blood-covered hands, started breathing heavily and felt nauseated by the smell of blood, causing him to vomit.

Overwhelmed with disbelief, he dropped the dagger and fell on his butt, exhausted from what he had just done. After killing the burly man, he was unaware of what had occurred.

Darkness had suddenly engulfed Marius, and all he saw were red circles, compelling him towards them. He had found himself in a world of flames, screams, and pleas, all painted.

He only regained control of himself once the passive skill wore off and the light overcame the darkness.

"Wh-what… th-the fuck ju-just happened…? Marius stuttered under his breath, feeling a little unsteady about the whole ordeal.

Like drums, his heart throbbed repeatedly.

What bothered him wasn't the act of killing itself, which he had expected, though he had rationalized these people as mere NPCs, characters in a game-like world devoid of real humanity.
