บท 61: The Mole Job

With this statement, both Sonia and Trinity looked a bit dumbfounded.

Sonia asked Cindy, "Cindy, what land are you talking about? I have a lot of assets under my name."

Cindy smiled, then thought to herself, "It must be nice to be so rich you can't even keep track of your own assets."

"I'm talking about the recent land you acquired outside of Everose by the Bazz Swamp. I want to develop this piece of land for myself. The Ling family had given me hardly any support, so I want to establish my own business empire starting with this piece of land," Cindy explained.

When Trinity heard the name of that place, her face turned green with the image of money in her eyes. "Cindy Ling wants this piece of land for Adrian," Trinity realized.

Trinity remembered that this piece of land was something that Adrian wanted in this novel world. But not for its value, but because he thinks it holds significant mineral reserves.

But Adrian later discovers that this land is useless. He then proceeds to pawn this land off on The Church Of The Divine Cross.

The church would eat a significant loss from that deal. This is something that Trinity could not allow. One of her wives is involved with the church.

So Trinity is unwilling to see her wife eat a financial loss. Thinking for a moment, why not have Sonia unload this land for a few hundred billion.

But in exchange, the contract will stipulate that the land can't be sold again for a minimum period of one hundred years.

Contracts are taken very seriously in the world of Regalius. Your business can live or die by whether you adhere to the terms of your contracts.

While Sonia was thinking about the land that Cindy wanted, she decided not to give it to Cindy.

Now that Sonia had discovered how much of a traitor Cindy is.

But as Sonia was about to turn Cindy down, Trinity grabbed her hand and whispered something into her ear.

As Sonia listened to Trinity's plan, her face began to show a bit of a villainous smile.

This marked the first time that Sonia began to diverge from her predestined role as a heroine.

Instead, Sonia Ling began to walk down the path of a villainous heroine. Sonia was truly beginning to break free from the destiny that this world has placed on her.

With a sly smile on her face, one that Cindy did not notice, Sonia said to Cindy, "Cindy, I can give you that Bazz Swamp land, but you will need to pay for it."

Cindy was not expecting to have to pay for this useless land. Adrian desperately wanted this land, though, so he gave her a credit card to use if the need should arise. Cindy figured that there should be no problem using Adrian's money for this land.

Cindy is certainly not going to use her own money for an errand of Adrian's.

"Fine, I can pay whatever price you want. Money means nothing to nobles like us, Sonia. You should be aware of this concept. But I'm surprised that you would charge your own family money for a simple piece of land," Cindy remarked.

Sonia sneered at this statement. "This bitch just wants to take advantage of her."

"Cindy, there should always be a clear distinction between money and family," Sonia retorted.

Trinity pulled a contract seemingly out of nowhere then handed it to Sonia. Sonia did not even bother to look at it. She trusts Trinity's judgment in business matters.

Sonia does not usually deal with her own money. Her business manager handles all of these issues.

Sonia passed the contract over to Cindy. She grabbed it with her Mole Hairs, then did not even bother looking it over before she signed her name on it with her mole hair pen.

Cindy then returned the contract to Sonia along with the credit card that Adrian gave Cindy to use. The sad thing about Adrian is that he is such a simp for women that he did not think to put a credit limit on this credit card.

Sonia handed the contract back to Trinity.

Trinity once again had on her plastic green sun visor hat that you would see a shady poker dealer wearing.

Then, for some unknown reason, lots of cigarette smoke began to flow into the restaurant.

As if this place was some kind of seedy backstreet restaurant with an illegal casino in the back of it.

Trinity pulled out a giant hunk of steel that seemed to be some kind of ancient steampunk version of a credit card processing machine.

Trinity took the card and swiped it on the machine. Then she entered in the sum of three hundred billion dollars.

The credit card machine began to smoke and overheat with the absurd amount that was charged to Adrian's card.

Finally, the machine exploded into a pile of trash steel and springs. But not before the credit card machine spit out a receipt for a completed transaction.

Then Trinity smiled and handed the receipt back to Cindy.

"Remember, according to the contract, you can't sell or give away this land for the next one hundred years," Trinity reminded.

Cindy took the receipt and saw the amount of the charge. She should have read that contract.

Cindy began to foam at the mouth as she fainted from this bill. How many Mole Jobs will she need to give Adrian to pay this bill off?
