บท 26: NEVER TRULY BELONGED TOGETHER

The Grannies were waiting on the first porch when the bike pulled into the driveway. They hurried down the steps, their faces creased with worry.

"Where have you been?" Granny Summer asked, her voice sharp with concern.

"We were so worried!" Granny Avira added, her hand fluttering at her throat. Dahlia felt a surge of guilt, and she stammered out an apology.

William simply smiled at the Grannies, his presence reassuring.

"Come in, come in." Granny Avira said, taking Dahlia's hand and leading her through the front door. "We've made you both a nice dinner." She said, her voice full of relief.

"I'm so glad you're both safe." Granny Sharon stood by the kitchen table, a steaming pot of stew in front of her. The smell of the stew filled the room, and Dahlia's stomach growled in response. She felt the tension drain from her body, and she smiled at the Grannies.
