บท 49: The Great Crusade's Progression

After a long rest, Justinian along with his Honor Guard all teleported back into his Throne Room. Many had been with their new families, but as they all knew, Duty came before that. The former Pyramid underground had been moved to the surface and then dismantled.

Then, it along with the greatest materials that could be created was turned into an enormous Imperial Palace with his fashion sense put in place.

The style remained mostly Gothic, but he added his flair with the colors of deep purple and dark gold to suit his status. Erda herself had flattened a large section of land to make the Imperial Palace where Justinian could rule from not Underground, but on the surface.

That also made the Palace the most guarded thing in the Solar System with vast armies of Space Marines, Kryptonians, Scions, Psian Jackels, Krorks, Eldar, Insectoids, reverse-engineered Parademons, Predakons, and all of the wild monsters that had evolved on Mars through Justinian's experiments.

When he and his Honor Guard gathered inside the Throne Room after a time of relaxation, they all knew what was going to happen. Remnosh, Lauralina, Magna, Sanguinia, and Leona gathered with the rest of the Honor Guard around Justinian who took his place on the Crystal Throne.

The moment he did so, the throne fired up with an insanity it had not had making every living being on Mars know that the Emperor had gotten even stronger. Inside the Throne Room were his five Predakons who had become mighty beasts of legend.

Predaking, Grimlock, Ravage, Devastator, and Grendel lowered their heads when they saw their Master again. As he sat down, his Honor Guard all saluted him by slamming their weapons on the ground.

He returned the gesture with his own Guardian Spear.

"I hope you all have been well."

Sigismund bowed.

"We have, we have appreciated you allowing us to rest."

"All work and no relaxation makes for machines, I don't need machines around me all the time. Now then, it is time."

Justinian flared his Psychic abillities as he communicated with his subjects throughout the Solar System. From the Forges on Mercury to the colonies on Pluto, all listened and listened well.

"My loyal subjects, it is I The God Emperor with a decree. In these last 16 years, we have expanded our borders to the edge of the Solar System. My scientists, engineers, researchers, artificers, and alchemists have been hard at work in the next stage of my Imperium.

I declare that this day to be the start of the Great Crusade. My vast armies will begin to bring this Galaxy into compliance. It shall be my Imperium that will dominate the stars and worlds of the Milky Way.

Those who refuse me will be sentenced to the annals of history. May the name of The Imperium echo through a thousand lifetimes."

At his word, every single one of his citizens from the commoners to the proud Space Marines knew that the time of peace was over. The Imperium had left Earth alone because as it was, the planet was surrounded.

Venus was now a habitable blue and green world through advanced magical and scientific Terraforming by Justinian. It had massive oceans, and billions of humans, White and Green Martians, Saturnians, and Kryptonians.

It also came with its own weapons that could reach Earth just like the weapons on Mars. At any time the planet could be reduced to atoms, but Justinian had no desire to ruin Earth.

As for his other creations, the Krorks, Eldar, Insectoids, Predakons, and the many monsters cloned in the genetic laboratories, the Imperium had vast armies on its eight currently controlled worlds.

Justinian just had to extend his senses and he could see that Jupiter had massive orbital colonies where AI and Billions of workers constructed Battleships and other Weapons for his Navy.

The gasses of the Gas Giant were harvested to fuel all of the machines as vast fleets were being pumped out at a fast pace. The many Moons of the Gas Giants all had colonies built on them where colonists lived, worked, and had their own lives.

Hive Cities were not a thing as they were inefficient and not something a proud Empire should have. Through the use of magic, issues of space were not needed as the Underground didn't have to be a bad thing.

With a mix of nature and cities, each Moon, Planet, and Orbital Colony were wonders where the few races of the Imperium lived. The Jealousy of many on Terra who wished to also join the Galactic Age, but Justinian was fine with dangling progress in front of them.

When he cut the communication, Ddraig who was still holding his daughter smiled as he turned to his brothers.

"Albion, Justinian, are we going to be getting into some shit?"

Abion and Justinian looked at each other before they smiled. They were going to get into plenty wars and that was all their armies wanted.

"Yes, we are."

---

As soon as Justinian ended his talk, Justinian's fast armies began to gather. From the 20 Space Marine Legions who all fielded 1,000,000 Marines each from a wide mix of White, Red, and Green Martian Warriors.

Numbers that would make easy work of any army in the Galaxy. Only Warrior Casts could become Space Marines, only Martians were allowed into the Space Marines except for Shapers who formed the Librarians or some Warriors who became Tech Marines.

The Scions were formed of the same lineup of White, Green, or Red Martian Laborers who sought combat over labor. Since they were far more common the numbers were over 350 million spread out among the Legions of Space Marines.

The Psian Jackels had numbered even greater numbers than Scions with their numbers reaching over 550 Million. That wasn't taking into account the Krork, Eldar, or Kryptonian Clone army that had been created.

They had their fleets which would spread out through the Galaxy with the Solar System as the start. With Justinian's order given his many fleets began to prepare to spread out to begin taking planets for the Imperium.

The Space Marine Legions would leave in 20 directions from the Solar System which was all well for Justinian. The Krork fleets would leave with their Eldar and Kryptonian allies.

Each Fleet would take many War Machines and Predakons who bred once a year. Despite appearing mechanical, they still bred and laid clutches of 3 or 5 eggs which were tended to and reared into mounts or mobile weapons of war.

Justinian watched on as thousands of giant battleships began to prepare for their voyages. The many races Justinian had either cloned or accepted into the Imperium now fought with a zeal that only worship could bring.

With him being a true God, their worship was welcomed, but dangerous so he always collected it rather than absorb it. Faith could be weaponized so he used the Faith Energy to make God Killing Weapons to infect them with Faith.

Regardless, Justinian, his Honor Guard, and his mates all watched on through extreme Psychic Power as the massive Fleets, over 35 of them with 20 being Space Marine Feets were loaded up with supplies, ammunition, weapons of war, Predators, Insectoids, and other tamed Monsters bred for War.

Eldora who was sitting on Justinian's lap tilted her head as she looked up at the vast fleets.

"Fleet."

Justinian nodded.

"Yes, how many?"

Everyone watched as she looked at the projections of the many Fleets being loaded up for War.

"A lot."

Justinian laughed as child innocence was amusing.

"Yes, a lot."

Erda appeared next to him and leaned on his throne.

"Kids are so nice, hey Eldora, do you know what Phosphex is?"

She nodded with an eager smile.

"Mommy likes it, says Heretics burn the best with that."

Ddraig cackled as his child was not all innocent especially with her mother being a Lord Inquisitor. Her being a bit informed of the darker aspects of the Imperium was just expected. It made everyone laugh which was a sign they were all crazy.

Regardless of the many automated loadings, there was no long load-up time since AI did all the annoying tasks. In hours, each of his fleets was ready to leave. 20 of the 35 Fleets were named after the original Space Marine Legions with the rest taking the names of whatever the leader of the fleet chose.

Though with a few exceptions such as the second and eleventh legion. Those two legions had been renamed as The Swords of Domination and Spears of Supremecy named after Justinian's brothers Albion and Ddraig.

Once all 35 Fleets were ready to fly off into the Stars, Justinian gave them one last talk.

"Go with honor and bring glory to the Imperium."

In his words, the 35 Legions containing around 350-500 ships per fleet began to fire up their thrusters. Rather than use their Warp Drives, they instead made use of their Hyper Drives to shorten the distance of the flights.

He watched as each fleet vanished into the stars, but they would soon bring back news. The use of fast teleport gates would make long slow fights a thing of the past. Unlike The Imperium Of Man, his control would be centered around him.

No world would go without contact and if they were attacked they would be able to be reinforced in minutes. Now he just had to wait even if it took centuries to bring the entire Galaxy into compliance.

---

The first Legion Of The Dark Angels was currently en route to the Alpha Centauri system with a vast fleet of over 400 massive ships. The Flagship was a Gloriana Class Battleship named the Dark Demise with it being 30 Miles Long.

It was the same length as the Flagship of Justinian before he ordered his fleet 'enhanced'. Through extensive rebuilding, his flagship the Invincible Reason was now even bigger at 100 miles long.

His other personal Ships The Conqueror and Vengeful Spirit received the same upgrades making his Fleet the strongest and largest in The Imperium. Leading the Legion Of The Dark Angels was the Legion Master Sammael.

A massive Space Marine and a mighty hybrid of a White Martian Elite and Warrior making him massive for his cast. Around him, his Honor Guard stood in powerful Mech Suits with several others here.

Standing at the entrance as guards were two heavily armored Krorks standing with an axe and sword respectively. At his side, a smaller, but still dangerous Kryptonian named Abelard Edmoniac.

He was one of the many Kryptonians cloned from the Kryptonian clones Justinian still had. As they were speaking the booming voice of the AI spoke.

"Legion Master Sammael, we are approaching the Alpha Centauri Star System in 20 seconds."

"Inform the fleet."

The AI which controlled the entire Fleet began to send the message out to the Captains of the Great Companies to prepare for combat. The Alpha Centauri System had three Stars and confirmed two planets.

Even if the planets had no life the Dark Angels would place Teleport Gates to link them back up to the Gate System of Mars. That would allow for the two Planets to be colonized by Colonists to expand the reach of the Imperium.

When the fleet arrived at the system the HyperDrive shut off allowing for the massive fleet to begin to fly toward the two planets. Grendel the AI named after Justinian's predakon began to scan the planets for life which it found.

"We have discovered our first source of intelligent life."

Sammael hummed as he looked at the planets that seemed like desserts.

"Show me the life forms?"

Grendel showed a basic hologram of species living on the planets which were very human-like. They looked identical to humans just with better technology.

"They appear human Legion Master."

Sammael sat himself on his Command Throne as the fate of these two worlds was in his hands. He remembered the words of Justinian.

"Always offer surrender and compliance first, if it is refused offer it again with more force, if it is refused, make them accept by force."

"Grendel, send them a message. Get me in contact with their rulers."

As Grendel began to do that around the other Fleets began to arrive at the sun's closet neights. Bernards Star, Luyeten's Star, Altair, Ross 128, Formahault, and Arcturus the nearest Stars to the Sun began to receive Fleets.

Some found habitable and populated worlds, others found dead worlds far too extreme to live on for normal beings. If that were the case, the Legions would have their strongest Librarians move the planets to the habitable zone and then place Teleport Gates to prepare them for habitation.

As for the planets that refused compliance twice, they were forced to accept compliance by extreme firepower. Either the vast Space Marines, the Kryptonian Army, Scions, Jackels, Insectoids, Eldar, or any of the many armies forced them to comply in brutal ways.

Back on Mars, Justinian could see all of this which made him smile. Plus, he smiled as one of his Fleets was en route toward Polaris, the home of the Thanagarians. The Nth metal they had would be his to control and so would the Thanagarians themselves.
