บท 74: Connection
Seeing that Caesar was on guard and escape was hopeless, Lucifer, who had arrived in a hurry, spread his wings to flee from heaven. He had come to help Michael, hoping they could join forces against Caesar and reclaim the furnace of hell.
Realizing he couldn't win now, Lucifer decided it was best to save himself first. As for Michael, he would have to fend for himself. Lucifer was now Satan, after all.
But no matter how quickly he spread his wings, he couldn't outrun the power of space. Caesar raised his left hand slightly, and a blue light circle wrapped tightly around Lucifer. His speed dropped immediately.
"I said that today, you all have to die!" Caesar said softly to Lucifer and Michael.
Using the power of the Space Gem, Caesar temporarily trapped Lucifer with his left hand. With his right hand, he gathered the power of the sun and attacked Michael directly.
"The power of the blazing sun?" Michael shouted in shock, drawing a large cross sword covered in white flames. "The brilliance of angels can overshadow the sun! Heaven's fire!"
Fist and sword collided. The white fire of heaven burned through Caesar's body. Caesar glanced at the fire on him and took a breath, blowing it away.
"Is that it? You dare to stand shoulder to shoulder with the sun?" Caesar shook his head and smiled contemptuously. Then, countless golden flames fell from the sky, covering Caesar's body. Protected by these flames, Caesar attacked Michael again.
Michael responded with all his concentration but gradually weakened under Caesar's fierce attack. He was not the original God, after all.
"Lucifer, for heaven and hell, come and save me!" Michael shouted in desperation. Some weaker angels hurried forward to rescue him, but they were burned to ashes by the golden flames surrounding Caesar before they could reach him.
Lucifer heard Michael's roar but was silently screaming due to the power of the Space gem.
"First, let him get rid of the boundless space constraints! Help me first and save me!"
Lucifer also called out to Michael for rescue. Although the space restraints were not causing him much damage, waiting for Michael and the angels to die would be disastrous for Lucifer. After breaking free from Caesar's shackles, Lucifer's only plan was to escape. The Forge of Hell had fallen into Caesar's hands, signaling the end of Hell.
But so what? The Ragnarok of the Gods is inevitable. Even the original Satan and God couldn't prevent the end of heaven and hell. It's all doomed. Escaping early was the only option. Lucifer and some powerful demon lords could survive for a while. Facing Caesar directly now would mean certain death for Lucifer, who was not that noble.
Michael glanced at the trapped Lucifer and took a blow from Caesar. A scorched black fist mark appeared on his body, but he successfully broke the spatial restraint holding Lucifer. Lucifer was free again. Without hesitation, he spread his wings and attempted to escape from heaven.
Lucifer and Michael were once called the right hand of God. Together, they could wield some of God's original power, enough to resist Caesar. But integration takes time, and Caesar wouldn't let them do it easily. Lucifer understood this; they couldn't integrate and wait for Caesar's legion to free up. They wouldn't survive.
He thought clearly, but it was too late. The powerful holy Kaisha had led many angels to kill all the others. The three kings had formed the Angel battle formation, with dozens of high-level angels backing them up. They were enough to stop Lucifer.
"Lucifer, you..." Michael started to speak, seeing Lucifer escape the trap. But when he saw Lucifer blocked by the three kings and noticed the dwindling number of fighting angels, he realized: Heaven is over.
"All angels, for the glory of the Lord, sacrifice to the flames of heaven!" Michael roared in despair, hoping to add energy to the flames of heaven by sacrificing the remaining angels. This energy could repel Caesar. As long as the flames of heaven and the faith on Earth remained, heaven could be restored.
"Is this what you mean by the flames of heaven?" Valina said, holding a milky white flame. The heavenly flames had been captured by her. Michael looked at Valina in despair, saying nothing. He threw away all thoughts of the angels and Lucifer and rushed towards the gate of heaven. As long as God lived, heaven wouldn't perish.
But a blue light flashed. The gate of heaven was close, yet seemed far away. "God is dead," Caesar said quietly, pulling a flaming sword away from Michael's chest.
Looking at the golden bloodstains left on the Sword of Flames, Caesar carefully inspected the weapon, noting that its power hadn't increased at all.
Casually, he tossed it to a high-ranking angel.
"Sure enough, Michael is not God," Caesar sighed, then glanced at Lucifer, who was scrambling left and right within the angel's battle formation.
Given a little more time, Lucifer could have broken through the obstacles posed by Keisha and the others. But, unfortunately, time was something Caesar didn't have.
Without hesitation, Caesar and Valina joined forces with the three kings of the angels.
Soon, Lucifer was beheaded right there in heaven.
Afterward, Caesar took a careful look around.
Before leaving, he lit another sun in heaven.
Out of the protection of the flames of heaven and with the channel of soul belief cut off, the dimension of heaven began to collapse.
From now on, heaven would no longer exist.
Caesar threw the Flames of Heaven and the Furnace of Hell directly into the Pool of Reincarnation, linking the soul beliefs of the entire earth.
From then on, when a human body died, regardless of their goodness, the soul would fly directly to the Pool of Reincarnation.
Evildoers would be decomposed into energy by the Hell Furnace within the Pool of Reincarnation.
The devout would be transformed into new angels by the Flames of Heaven within the Pool of Reincarnation—new angels who would be loyal only to Caesar.
With heaven collapsed, hell would also struggle to survive without its energy source.
But Caesar didn't let hell go easily. He used the son of hell, Mammon, to locate and attack hell once more.
Without rest, the army advanced again.
Hell was not as powerful as heaven, especially after Lucifer's death.
Its strongest fighting force was Mephisto, of the fourth-order medium level.
However, during Caesar's assault on hell, Mephisto never appeared.
Mephisto had escaped.
Perhaps he was hiding somewhere in the world.
Mephisto was supposed to take Satan's place as the new king of hell but had been usurped by the fallen angel Lucifer.
Because of this, he had always been dissatisfied and disobedient.
When he learned that the Furnace of Hell had been taken away, Lucifer was dead, and the devils had no power, he suppressed his greed for the title of Satan and fled.
Humans would always have evil thoughts, and occasionally devouring a sinful soul or two could keep Mephisto alive.
Deliberately avoiding capture, Mephisto evaded Caesar's multiple scans.
Caesar shook his head and decided to ignore Mephisto for the moment, focusing instead on connecting with Loki, who had been missing for a long time.
Summoning the Angel Legion with the power of the Space Gem, Caesar was no longer what he used to be. He concealed the spatial fluctuations, which were violent and seemingly impossible to control, enough to attract the attention of the universe.
Thanos, no doubt, was one of those drawn to it.
