บท 99: • The Predator

The drums began, and the announcer's voice followed, narrating the rules of the game.

The three Bloodsports lined before Spheris, warhammer sizzling, blue cubes humming and mega sword glistening. He studied them with a quiet concentration, moving no part of his body except his eyes.

Hammer Man, Blue Cubes, Barov.

'What do their shadows tell you about them?' Obsidian asked.

Spheris's eyes intensified on his three adversaries, and he no longer viewed them through normal vision, rather some sort of caliginous sight. Through each of them, he saw their shadows rise, taking their forms but in a more macabre manner.

Spheris listened.

"Barov. He's excited to battle me, convinced that I'll be an easy kill, having watched me shatter under the wrath of Pa Tsuna before. He's the hungriest of the trio. Overconfident. Bloated." He narrowed his eyes. "Highfalutin."
