I can't just accept it. Is it just me or does anyone else feel the irony? His purpose was to defeat the Night King, and he chose a necromancer. The story could have gone like this: he was a combination of wolf and dragon, so air magic, warg magic (with winter benefits), and ritual magic in place of sacrifice magic.
