บท 70: Invader
After an intense day of training, Ryo had some time at night to rest and review the combats that had occurred earlier in the day. Lying on his bed with his arms behind his head, he stared at the dark ceiling of his room.
"I have some things I can improve on, but against someone like Tora-sensei, who has superior physical movement. However, the way he used the scrolls to stop attacks and counterattack was very interesting. I could make some sealing scrolls while leaving them with some earth or wind release sealed inside."
Ryo pondered the combat for some more time and soon began to fall asleep since he was already lying in his bed. He needed to sleep a lot to recover his energy and continue the training in the next few days, which were going to be quite exhausting.
On the other side of Konoha, still at night in a secret bunker; Tora was kneeling in front of someone, a man with bandages on his body, not many yet. He had a serious expression while reading a report that Tora had made for him.
Danzo showed a slight smile upon seeing what was written on the paper in his hands. "So the kid is better than was reported to me. Damn Hiruzen hiding this from me until the last minute, he thought taking Root from me would leave me with few options?". He laughed again while looking at Tora.
"You're doing well, Tora. However, I need Ryo under my command. I'll arrange the papers. You will take Ryo to another location, and you can tell his team that he will be away for a while. And perhaps they'll have to put someone in his place. I have to get my hands on Ryo, besides having great potential, he is already an excellent medical ninja at this age, he will help me with what I need."
Tora nodded his head and flickered away; he had to kidnap Ryo that night to carry out Danzo's orders. To Tora, those were the law. With that, after a few moments, he appeared near the building where Ryo lived. Tora was dressed in a completely black outfit without symbols and only with space at his eyes to see; the rest was covered. He blended perfectly into the shadows of the night.
As soon as he appeared in front of Ryo's window, Tora began to open it with some tools. He couldn't leave traces that someone had invaded Ryo's room, especially since they had all the planning done on how to handle the situation.
As soon as Tora started to open the window slowly. The window led to the living room of Ryo's house, which was combined with the kitchen. And further back on the right door was the bedroom, which had no windows, so Tora had no other route but through this one.
As he set foot inside Ryo's building, Tora felt an unsettling feeling in his chest, the experienced Root ninja sensed a sense of danger, and rightly so. As he entered the living room, something from the bedroom wall shifted slightly, and then something crossed the wall with speed, precision, and... silence. Reflecting the night light, a golden thread was directed at the invading ninja.
From his bedroom, Ryo, even in a state of doze, managed to send out localization waves, but in his house, he always restricted them to only one at a longer interval between another. However, this specific night, his senses were more alert due to the combat during the whole day.
And amid one of the pulses of localization, he saw a presence tampering with his window. Ryo, without moving so as not to alert anything. 'Damn, who is invading my house in the middle of the night in Konoha?'. Ryo quickly moved his fingers while two of the three coins joined forming a larger one, and with that, he pointed in the direction of where the invader was coming from.
Quickly a flash reflecting the little light there was in his room was seen, and a golden line crossing the wall. Without wasting time with a hand seal, he immediately created a clone that followed the golden line while, without making any hand seal, launched 4 wind shurikens in the direction of the place. One of them to make a larger hole in the wall and the other three in the direction of the invader.
Tora, an experienced ninja, managed to dodge all of this while quickly retreating from the spot, avoiding both the golden thread and the three wind shurikens. 'He noticed me? How?!'. He quickly repositioned himself, but soon after, something flickering from his side was already outside the building on top of one of the roofs.
The glow of light coming from the kunai in Ryo's hands descended towards the mysterious ninja, who stopped the blow with another kunai and quickly retreated once again. Tora thought it would be a simple mission to put a genin to sleep with a sedative.
However, somehow he had been discovered. Now he had a choice to make; he would continue and try to complete the mission or abandon it since fighting there would only attract attention if Tora didn't use everything he knew, and that possibly would reveal his identity to Ryo, who had spent the day fighting with him and saw some tricks he used.
On the other hand, Ryo was tenser than ever; he did not expect something like this, someone had set up something against him, and at the same moment, he looked around. Searching for any patrol ninja, but there was none within almost a kilometer, normally there would be at least 10 or 20 ninjas in the area, but not today.
Ryo attacked Tora again while Tora defended, and soon launched an attack against Ryo, who couldn't react and was hit in the stomach in a spot where he wouldn't die but would be incapacitated. Tora, seeing this for a fraction of seconds, was satisfied since he would be able to finish things off quickly there, but in the fraction of seconds after... Ryo's body exploded, and somewhere farther away, the memories of the dying clone went to the real Ryo.
