บท 9: Phantom Sword Dance! Nine-headed Demon Worm!

As Ye Tian watched Chen Su standing before him with a sword in hand, his heart skipped a beat. Just moments ago, he had thought he was doomed, but to his surprise, Chen Su had appeared to save him.

Chen Su turned his head, his eyes filled with concern. "My disciple, I'm sorry I'm late. You must have been frightened," he said.

Listening to Chen Su's words, Ye Tian was stunned for a moment, feeling mixed emotions in his heart.

He didn't expect that at this moment, it was his most feared teacher who came to save him.

"teacher..." he muttered.

Chen Su reached out and gently rubbed Ye Tian's head. "Don't worry, my disciple. As long as I'm here, no one can harm you," he assured him.

With that, Chen Su turned around, sword drawn, and stood before the monks of the Jiulong Temple. "Xuanmiao, this boy is my disciple. Will you give the Qingcheng Sect a face and let him go?" he demanded.

As Chen Su finished speaking, the monks parted to reveal an old, emaciated monk with white hair and eyebrows, leaning on a staff. The old monk's face was solemn and commanding.

"Mr. Chen, it's not that I don't want to, but your disciple has publicly injured our monks here at the Jiulong Temple. If we let him go just like that, we won't be able to give our monks a proper explanation," the old monk explained.

Upon hearing this, Chen Su turned to Ye Tian. "What did you do to their monks?" he asked.

Ye Tian hesitated for a moment before replying. "Master, I...I cut off someone's hand because they were forcing me into the temple hall while I was suffering from a headache," he confessed.

Chen Su nodded and turned back to the old monk. "Xuanmiao, my disciple has indeed done wrong. Tell me what kind of compensation you want, and the Qingcheng Sect will pay," he offered.

However, the old monk shook his head. "Mr. Chen, this is not about compensation," he said firmly.

Chen Su's eyes narrowed. "So you're saying you want blood for blood?" he asked coldly. "Fine. My disciple cut off one of your monks' hands. Today, I'll cut off one of mine. Will that settle it?"

The old monk remained unmoved. "Your disciple has been deceived by evil forces and has injured our monks. This has angered the Buddha. He must confess his sins and repent before the Buddha," he explained.

"Besides, the monk he injured has already bled to death," he added.

Chen Su sneered at these words. "Died of excessive bleeding? How long has it been? Don't tell me such nonsense," he scoffed. "Xuanmiao, don't play foolish games with me. I know what you're up to. You're just eyeing my disciple's pure physical body and want to keep him here for yourself," he accused.

The old monk maintained his solemn expression. "Mr. Chen, I'm not sure what you're implying, but today, we must keep this young disciple here to appease the anger of the masses," he stated firmly.

Chen Su's sneer grew even wider. "Xuanmiao, you're being unreasonable," he snarled. "I'm taking my disciple with me today, and not even the Buddha himself can stop me. Mark my words, I will protect him," he declared.

Grabbing Ye Tian's hand, Chen Su turned to leave. As he watched this scene unfold, Ye Tian felt a strange sensation in his heart. He had never expected Chen Su to go to such lengths to protect him, even if it meant going against the entire Jiulong Temple. It was a deeply moving moment for him.

"teacher.." he whispered.

But Xuanmiao was not about to let them go so easily. He slammed his staff into the ground and shouted, "Form the array and stop them!"

Immediately, the monks lined up, their hands clasped together in prayer, chanting sutras. In an instant, Buddha statues rose behind them, each with a different appearance. The sound of their chanting echoed through the air as the Buddha statues clasped their hands together and lunged towards Ye Tian and Chen Su.

Facing the onslaught of Buddha statues, Chen Su sneered and raised his right hand, fingers pointed like a sword. With a loud clang, a brilliant sword ray shot into the air, cutting through the attacking Buddha statues with icy coldness.

A terrible explosion erupted between Chen Su and the Buddha statues, sending shockwaves rippling through the area. Ye Tian, despite being protected by Chen Su, was still knocked unconscious by the force of the blast.
