She exchanged a quick glance with Jace who by this time, any lingering desires he had have been completely extinguished by his mother's words.
"I've told you, I share no relationship with those people!" Jace spat.
"Maybe I should leave you two to talk in private," Grace said and made to leave.
"No," Rose's voice sounded almost immediately, plunging Grace into further confusion.
"Huh?"
"Grace, dear. Please stay," Rose said and when she raised a brow in confusion, Rose turned to her and took her hand in hers.
She didn't know what the older woman meant but from the look on Jace's face she felt he would have preferred if she left and was actually prepared to say so when Rose's voice sounded again,
"This also concerns you, my child, please stay, maybe you could help," she added in a way that Grace couldn't say no to.
Leading her back to sit beside her on the couch, she turned to her son.
