บท 296: He Clearly Had Other Plans

Grace held her phone to her ear as her eyes scanned the snow-covered garden.

It's been two months since the incident with Clarissa and strangely enough, Clarissa hadn't returned to the house, neither had anyone mentioned anything about her, not even in passing. It was as if the confrontation never occurred.

In that time, Jace had also made an unexpected request of asking her to stop working at the kindergarten. 

It puzzled her, especially since Rufus was no longer a concern, but Jace had refused to explain. He was however, magnanimous enough to point out that Charles had adjusted well to school, which had been her main reason for being there in the first place. So why prolong the inevitable? 

She had no valid argument against that, besides, he was still her boss and expected that she comply.
