Grace's eyes widened in disbelief. Was her boss finally giving in? Did he also feel sad for her friend's mother's condition?

A lone tear gradually slipped down her cheek. 

She never knew her boss could be this understanding. Despite his arrogant nature, he was still human and cared about people's life and death, unlike his depraved cousin.

Why wasn't his cousin a little bit like him? 

Before taking the decision she wanted to make, Grace needed to clarify some things. 

"Can I ask you something?" She said

"Yes, go on," Jace nodded hesitantly.

She cleared her throat a few times then asked,

"What actually caused the hatred between you and your cousin. I believe you never started out like this.
