"Wendy, Bill," she called out softly.

"What's the situation?" she asked when they both turned to her.

"No one has told us anything yet. We're waiting for the operation to be over to hear from the doctor," Bill said.

Grace loved to Wendy's side and flung a hand over her shoulders. "It will be alright," she comforted. Wendy did not refute her but just nodded blankly.

According to the doctor's earlier statement, there are still a few weeks remaining and the window for saving her mother's life will be up or did the doctor miscalculate and this was actually the end?

Wendy couldn't put her thoughts into words as she was afraid if she did so, her words would come to pass.
