They could see him bend to kiss the tip of her nose and her forehead before tucking the strand of her hair behind her ear.  

It…couldn't be their imagination, right? 

If the supreme alpha was being so affectionate towards her, didn't that mean that she was his mate? Holy heavens! That made sense and very much explained why he'd brought the human girl to the pack.  

They all seemed to have come to the same conclusion because they had all covered their mouths, beyond shocked. The rumor…was true.

But even so, why had he accepted her? Why didn't he reject her? Impossible. Just no way.  

Adeline could feel their hostile gazes prickling her skin, but as someone who'd already made up her mind, she was not one bit bothered by their stares.
