It turns out the Netrunner wasn't trying to annoy the Tyger Claws, no, she went straight for the Maelstorms, trying to get some information from one of their own, but she got tracked back here, resulting in the attack and my near death.
But thanks to my high-risk high-reward job, I received big rewards.

I went to check if my Eddies had increased, but seeing how it didn't the 1000 Eddies most likely was the money I would receive from Padre, I guess no money glitch for me then, I also am happy for the slippery perk, which would increase my chances of survival mid-battle, but the most important part was the level up, 2 Status points and a Perk point, the mere idea of finally getting my strength beyond the 10 benchmarks made me salivate but now was the worst time to use them, I have low stats that can be easily raised with training, so thanks, but no thanks.
'The perk point though.'
I was about to click on the perk list, when Kiro tapped me on the shoulder, making me go back to reality.
" Padre has sent someone to do the cleanup, we can go." He said, finally speaking for the first since we met, his voice sounded just like someone would expect it to be.
I simply nodded and while walking outside the motel I received a call from an unknown number, considering how V received calls from Fixers after completing a gig, I decided to answer, hoping that I wasn't getting myself hacked.
" Akira, quite the first job you went through." Padre's voice said from the side.
" Could have warned me of the possible dangers," I told him, not wanting to become the weak bitch of this relationship.
" I also wasn't aware that she wanted to screw you over, I wouldn't have placed you with her otherwise, but still did a great job, so I will give you a bonus."
While he said those words, a thousand Eddies got added to my account.
" Don't spend them all at once." He said, and then suddenly ended the call.
Had they been made of paper I would be currently bathing in that thousand eddies, it would have been a very depressing bath, but it would have felt great nonetheless.
Finally done with the gig I decided to take the metro back home, not feeling like running back home.
The metro was as depressing as usual, and the smell didn't help making the ride better, but nothing could ruin my mood.
After I arrived home, I chatted a bit with Mama to make her know everything was good and that I didn't get injured, paid her 200 Eddies for everything she did to help till now, and then went for the bathroom in the back to take a shower, the blood still fresh on my cloths.
A long, relaxing shower later and I was ready to finally check the perks I could buy while resting on my more comfortable than usual bed.

'I CAN BUY JACKSHIT.' And there is how to ruin a man's mood in a few seconds.
After calming down, I realized what these perks meant, the Gamer System can become even more broken than it currently is, and that's amazing.
' But I have to focus on the more short-term survival.' I thought while clicking on the search bar and adding the feature to only include perks that cost 1 PP.

Come Back Kid ( +1% to Health regen rate for each per cent missing of HP)
Optimization ( +25% RAM recovery rate) (Requires Cyberdeck)
Killer Instinct ( +25% Sneak Damage using Silenced weapons and melee weapons, lets you know if the hit will or will not kill the enemy)
...

I didn't even think twice and bought the Come Back Kid perk, the bonus it gave me would surely save me in life-and-death situations.
Having finally used the Perk point I went on to my next most important objective, checking out the shotgun I had picked up from Ugo's Corpse.
Aside from that, I also grabbed a machete from one of the bodies, which fell into the knife category for the system, and had a damage modifier of 2, which was a big improvement compared to the previous 1.2 of the kitchen knife.

'Ok, that's a lot of damage, no wonder that guy's head exploded when I shot him, I will need to train my Str though otherwise every time I use it my shoulder will pop from its socket, I also need to buy some bullets, guess I know what my first stop will be tomorrow morning, maybe I can also go to Vik's clinic to see what his prices are.' I said while passing my hand over the shotgun, getting used to the weight and shape to not find myself unprepared next time I'd need to use it.
Which will soon arrive.
