บท 21: Chapter 20 Only you can make, every new day feels so new
"Tomorrows another day." I say lookin of to nowhere.
The new dawn approaching and I remember that I haven't slept at all.
I continued to lie on the ground messing with some rocks I found next to us.
"Hope Blood Stalk wakes up soon." I said since I wanted there opinion on what to do next.
I want to find my family and they want to go fight monsters.
I also want to set up some boundaries for us going forward, things like who controls what and when.
But every time I bring it up either they ignore me or something bad happens.
"But not today." I said in confidence. I will get them to listen to me today.
As I said that our body started to move and get up without me telling it too.
"Good Morning." I said to them which got no reply.
"How are you feeling?" I asked while we seemed to stretch our arms and legs.
"Better..." Blood Stalk replied coldly I think. I can't really tell with them.
"Ready to start a new day." I started to get a conversation rolling, but got interrupted.
"No..." Blood Stalk said fast to shoot down my attempts to talk to them.
"Ok, not a morning person. Got it." I said in response to the way they were talking in a comedic fashion.
It was a long day yesterday and I might seem annoying to them. But have things that need to be said and asked.
"Before anything else can happen I want to set some ground rules." I said before we started climbing out of the hole again or any monsters start attacking us again.
"I can control the right hand and head for the most part and you control the left hand and legs, correct?" I asked this to make sure they are paying attention.
Our head nodes at this so I know they understand.
"I also found out that when one of us is not in control, the other can take over by default." I said this to also have them in the loop.
"Ok..." Blood Stalk said disinterested in the conversation like it was obvious.
"If one of us is not in control the other shouldn't do anything the other wouldn't want to also do, like walking off a cliff or something." I said to make a base line.
"Why... would you want that?" Blood Stalk asked and
"It was just an example." I answered back not really thinking of a good example to start with.
"I just wanted to ask to make sure that you are ok with all of this." I said as both a question and confirmation since this is a partnership and both should have input on this kind of stuff.
"Yes..." They seemed more interested now than before, which means we finally made some progress in our communication with one another, I hope.
"Great, what do you want to do now?" I asked since we have goals, but not really a direction to go right now.
I assume we will look for civilization at some point, though right now we are in the middle of nowhere so I have no idea how long it will take to find anybody.
Without telling me, we turned to look at the pile of food we got from that day and even though I couldn't smell it, it looked so bad that I didn't want to go anywhere near it.
We walked a few feet towards it, crushing the old fire wood we had started last night as we walked.
"I think we probable shouldn't eat that." I said since I don't know how long it takes for crab or octopus to spoil, but with no frig or basic preservative it would be a huge risk if they ate it now.
We grab some of the bodies and began to rap the tentacles and crab arms.
"What are we doing?" I ask to know why they were tying ligaments into knots using both hands since I can let them use it now.
"Cary... them." Blood Stalk said in response trying to focus on the task at hand.
"What are we using them for?" I ask not really understanding their plan or why they were doing this.
"Bait..."
