บท 70: Chapter 69: Voices.

Rigel looked at the brittle sword that he held and realized it couldn't be used anymore. He threw the last weapon he had on him and looked back at the corpses of the orcs. He looked at the massive camp of orcs where there were so many different types of orcs. Some were warriors, some were mages, and some were shamans that could inflict curses and ailments.

"I never thought I would encounter them while I was looking for a town or a village..." Rigel sighed and looked at the 3 orcs in front of him that were as big as the orc leader that he killed back on Earth.

One of the orcs was a shaman and it brought back the orcs that Rigel had killed. Seeing what that orc was capable of, Rigel grabbed the orc's axe and threw it at the orc shaman. The other orc caught the axe and crushed it like it was made of plastic.

Rigel stomped his left foot, creating an earth spike that was big enough to impale the orc shaman. He killed the orc shaman, but the other orc reversed the magic and freed the orc shaman from the earth spike. He thought he killed the orc shaman, but he didn't think it would come back to life, but it had become a zombie just like the orcs that it brought back to life.

The orc warrior charged at Rigel and threw a massive smash at him, but he grabbed the hand with both hands. He pushed the hand back and dodged to the side as an earth spike came out from the ground since he felt the Mana flow going toward the ground underneath him.

He dashed and threw a kick that broke his grave boot when it clashed with the orc's muscular belly. His kick was enough to throw the orc warrior away, and then he snapped his fingers, suppressing the Mana around the orc mage's head until it exploded.

The orc mage had prepared for that attack and created a barrier to protect its body from the explosion. But Rigel's plan was to distract the orc mage, and he managed to burn the orc shaman's body until it burned to a crisp. The shaman died forever and so did the summoned dead orcs that the shaman brought back to life.

The orc mage was displeased and angered by Rigel's trick of casting multiple spells at the same time. Rigel looked at the Mana flow around the orc mage and dispersed them, making the orc mage unable to cast anything. He then cast a fireball and threw it at the orc mage like throwing a slow ball.

The orc mage was confused, but when it tried to stop it, the fireball didn't get affected by the Mana flow. The orc mage tried to repel it by adding more Mana, but it only made the fireball even bigger. The orc didn't know what had happened and so it decided to run away, but Rigel pushed the fireball and made it fast.

The orc mage got obliterated and turned into crispy meat until it turned into ashes. The only one left was the orc warrior who realized the other orcs had been killed. It had no will to fight anymore so it decided to run as fast as it could, but Rigel threw axes at its back and legs until it collapsed.

Rigel walked on top of the orc's body with an axe in his right hand and stared at its trembling eyes. He swung the axe right on its forehead and cut it open as the skull and the brain got crushed by the impact.

He grabbed the 3 cores of those big orcs, and each of them had a different color. The shaman had a pitch black color, the warrior had a bright orange color, and the mage had a light blue color. When he consumed the bright orange and the light blue cores, nothing happened, but when he absorbed the black one, he could taste the bitterness of it and how sharp the dust was when it entered his body.

His ears were ringing as he heard whispers and faint screams. He looked around, but he didn't see anyone around him, but the whispers and the faint screams became clearer around him. He didn't know what had happened, but he ignored it and decided to leave the forest.

After days of walking, he found a town, a big one as well where he could see people coming in and out. There were merchants with their carriages and wagons waiting in line to enter the city. He looked at the walls guarded by knights, so he decided to find the least guarded spot to enter the town.

The moment he entered town, he was welcomed by the last thing he wanted to see. The scenery of slaves was being sold off on the street and they were in a really bad condition. It was the first time he saw a race where it looked like a 2 year old kid but they were old like adults.

There were other races as well, and some of them were dwarf, elf, and merfolk. There were other races that he didn't know what they were since they looked a bit like humans but had a slight difference.

Rigel was looking at the slaves until he heard a sobbing right behind his left ear. He turned around, but there was nobody there or anyone sobbing near him. He started to get annoyed by those voices that haunted him, but then he noticed the race that could barely reach 60 centimeters tall looked at him. A girl in her dirty and ragged clothes with shoes that would fit a baby's feet.

"You can see them too," The girl said as she kept staring at Rigel. "Or maybe you can only hear them?" She asked.

"You see them?" Rigel furrowed his eyebrows.

"They're everywhere..." The girl nodded repeatedly. Before she could say anything else, she was dragged by the slave owner and made her fall to the ground.

Rigel grabbed the chain that pulled the girl's neck and crushed it with his bare hand.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" The slave owner glared at Rigel and immediately the guards that protected the slaves approached him.

Rigel didn't say a word and tossed 2 Gold Coins at the slave owner. When the slave owner was about to open his mouth, Rigel tossed another Gold Coin at him. It was enough to keep the slave owner quiet and let him have the girl.

"Come," Rigel said as he offered his hand to the girl. "Let's find something to eat while you tell me what you know about this stuff," he added.

The girl hesitated because Rigel's appearance was so suspicious especially with the bandages that covered his eye and half of his face. Not to mention, he was too tall for her to look at his face and the cloak that hid his hair and head. She didn't have a choice since he had become her owner, and she didn't want to get in trouble.

Rigel looked around to find a place to eat, but he realized the girl was not beside her. When he turned around he saw the girl was running as fast as she could to catch up on him. She was exhausted and could barely balance her weak body. He then approached the girl, lifted her up, and carried her on his back.

"Pl-please let me down! This is too embarrassing!" The girl said, and she was flustered, but she didn't dare to do anything to Rigel.

"I'm not your owner, and I'm doing this because I want to treat you like a living being. You don't have to worry about anything and let me carry you," Rigel responded. "You're weak and slow, also, you're light like a baby. So I'm not bothered by it," he added.

Rigel walked down the street to find a tavern, and then he heard sniffles from behind him. He thought it was another mysterious voice, but it was the girl that he carried. He looked at the girl trying to wipe off the tears, hiding her face with her messy brown hair, but the tears kept coming out of her brown eyes. He didn't know how old she was or even her name, so he decided to stay quiet and let her be.

"Thank you, Mister..." The girl said quietly as she tried to stop crying.

"Let's find something to eat and a place to sleep. You need them the most," Rigel nodded and went inside a tavern where dozens of Players were drinking and enjoying the moment.

"Wait! This place... They don't accept people like me..." The girl was scared and her hands trembled when she looked at those Players around her.

"So what? I don't mind if they want to bother me. I'll gladly deal with them," Rigel responded and could feel the gazes toward him and the girl he carried.
