บท 401: Chapter 401: The Living Tribunal Stained in Blood

The news of the Phoenix's death was completely unexpected, even for Clark, who had prepared for the worst in the impending multiversal catastrophe.

In the vast array of Marvel comics, Celestials have died, Tunxing has died, and all five of the creation gods have died at least once. Even the Living Tribunal has been killed by enemies... how many times was it again?

Well, the number of times the Living Tribunal died isn't the point. The point is that the Phoenix, unlike those seemingly formidable but frequently killed Celestials, has never been known to die—not even once! In fact, before directly confronting the true form of the Phoenix, Clark had suspected that this super-entity of the multiverse possessed an attribute of immortality.

Not too long ago, in an extradimensional space, Clark had even fought with it.

Even though Clark possessed mid-multiversal-level terrifying power and was augmented by various background music effects at that time, the Phoenix still demonstrated strength that was in no way inferior to his.

And now, such an indomitably vital entity was suddenly... gone.

More importantly, Clark still didn't even know who or what the enemy was, which was particularly frustrating. Preparation required at least knowing who the enemy was.

With these frustrations, Clark had arrived at the void where the Living Tribunal resided in the extradimensional space.

At first glance, he gasped in shock! What met his eyes was a radiant yet terribly mangled corpse.

If not the Living Tribunal, then who?

The once majestic and mysterious entity now lay motionless on the ground. Beside its head, the Lord of Order was missing half of its skull, and the Lord of Chaos was completely gone; only the blood relics on the shoulder of the Living Tribunal proved their past existence. There was a massive hole through the chest of the Living Tribunal, piercing front to back, through its entire body.

The visage of the Living Tribunal was still relatively intact, perhaps not dying in the most gruesome manner possible. Yet, with its eyes wide open in a death stare, it certainly wasn't a pleasant sight.

As Clark's gaze landed on the empty eyes of the Living Tribunal, he suddenly felt a peculiar sensation.

The Tribunal had left a message before dying!

Thinking this, Clark immediately focused his mind, connecting with the faint signal of the message. This was a type of extremely hidden information wave that could only be seen by manipulating the laws of the Marvel multiverse to their limits.

Such a message, throughout the Marvel multiverse, besides the mythical O-A-A, who no one had ever seen, only the Living Tribunal could create, and only Clark, who had refined all six Infinity Stones and achieved a state of completeness, could decipher.

The fact that the Living Tribunal had deliberately left this message suggested that it foresaw its own death and Clark's eventual arrival. If that was the case, then the Tribunal's foresight was perhaps even greater than Clark's current understanding.

After all, Clark currently could not see any fate related to the Living Tribunal, not even knowing when or by whom it had been killed.

Of course, the Tribunal might have deduced this conclusion based on past events. It knew Clark walked the path of vengeance and foresaw that the endpoint of this path was significant. Guessing that Clark might come here and leaving a message in advance also made sense.

Clark naturally preferred the latter explanation.

Because if it was the former, then if an entity of higher realm like the Living Tribunal had fallen, could he, as the God of Vengeance, really defeat such a formidable enemy?

As the layers of cosmic law barriers were deciphered, the message left by the Living Tribunal finally appeared before him.

It was a record of a cataclysmic battle, where the Living Tribunal faced three opponents alone. The adversaries wore silvery-white armor, bald-headed and pale as if they were aliens from early science fiction movies.

Their power was immense, each on par with the Living Tribunal, or rather... they wielded a type of power outside of the normal rules, which, for the Tribunal, who controlled all the rules of the Marvel universe, was undoubtedly fatal.

The outcome was a defeat—a devastating one!

The Living Tribunal was killed on the spot by these three powerful enemies, and even in its dying moments, it could not take any of them down with it.

"The number of enemies is immense, and what we encountered was just the tip of the iceberg. Vengeance, you are now our only hope. Only you have the power to defeat them. Be fully prepared and do not act rashly!"

Suddenly, the voice of the Living Tribunal, intertwined with many chaotic battle scenes, though on the verge of death, still carried its grave and majestic tone.

Clark's gaze fell on the image of the Tribunal being subdued by the three grotesque beings, and he asked, "How did you know they fear me?"

For beings like Clark and the Living Tribunal, who fully mastered the rules of time, time

could not obstruct their communication. The words Clark spoke now could reach the Tribunal at the point in time before its death, as if the current Clark was conversing with the still-living Tribunal.

"Because when they arrived, I, Eternity, Infinity, Oblivion, Death, Tunxing... we all sensed that enormous threat and converged in the extradimensional space for the final battle, but you did not come."

"Some said you were avoiding the fight, but I knew it was because you did not sense their threat. Those mysterious beings have a special ability; they can choose who senses their threat and who does not. They declared war on all of us, except you. There's only one reason that makes sense—they fear you!"

Clark couldn't help but laugh, "The always methodical Living Tribunal, playing detective?"

"Reasoning, too, is one of the inherent laws of the universe..."
