บท 373: Chapter 373: Lois vs Jean Grey

The young girl before him was a true godly progeny, inheriting the perfect genes fused from the Eternals, the cosmic elders, and humans from her father, along with the cosmic secrets of the Space Stone from her mother. Naturally, her starting point was much higher than others.

She didn't need any cultivation; as she aged, her strength would directly challenge the pinnacle of a Celestial Being!

Then, this godly progeny was confined by Clark in a spatial barrier, supposedly a prison but actually a way for her to comprehend the most fundamental laws of space in the simplest manner possible.

Although Clark wasn't sure at the time whether Lois was his daughter, he knew this girl was intimately connected to him. He meticulously crafted the spatial barrier, incorporating not only the laws of space but also the unmerged powers of the Time Stone, embedding two temporal secrets within it.

To the outside world, Lois was trapped in that barrier for about a week, but in reality, she spent six to seven years inside, comprehending the laws of space. Her body was protected by another temporal secret. As long as the barrier remained intact, no matter how long she stayed inside, her body would remain the same age as when she entered, with no aging whatsoever.

When she finally broke through the barrier, she had completely mastered the laws of space, becoming a universe-level cosmic deity!

As a cosmic deity, even though her main focus wasn't mental power, her mental strength was absolutely overwhelming to anyone present, including Jean Grey, the host of the Phoenix, and Professor X, who specialized in psychic powers.

Professor X's attempt to approach her mind was blocked by a mental force many times stronger and more condensed than his own.

Charles was shocked and tried to withdraw his psychic probe, but it was too late.

Realizing that Charles had attempted to use his psychic abilities to invade her mind, the girl's previously cheerful face turned cold: "That's very rude of you!"

In an instant, her immense mental power swept up Charles's lingering psychic energy and kicked it back into his body like a soccer ball.

Although the girl's counter was harsh, she clearly held back; but how could Charles's ordinary human body withstand such a powerful psychic shock? Almost instantly after she spoke, Charles and his wheelchair slid back over ten meters, blood trailing from his nose, leaving him weakened and drained.

"Professor!"

"Charles!"

The X-Men were in shock, and cries of alarm filled the air. Immediately, everyone's hostile gaze turned toward the future girl.

Raven and Hank transformed, and Alex began to gather energy, clearly preparing for battle.

Lois, seeing this, was undaunted, still holding her clueless counterpart and looking provocatively at everyone around her.

The Li family had two maxims.

The second was to never bully the weak.

But now, since the other party had initiated the conflict, she was in the right!

Thus, she was now following the first maxim of the Li family: never suffer bullying from anyone. Not from anyone!

"Wait a moment." Seeing the tension escalating due to his indiscretion, Charles quickly intervened: "This isn't her fault. I shouldn't have tried to probe her thoughts."

As a psychic, Charles was normally resistant to negative emotions. His prior actions had been subtly influenced by dark energy, and the girl's forceful response, though it caused him internal injury, also snapped him back to clarity. He readily admitted his mistake and then addressed the powerful girl before him: "My child, could you tell us who you really are, and what brings you here?"

"My name is Lois..." Seeing Charles back down, the girl finally released Lois's shoulder, giving an answer that surprised everyone.

But in the next moment, her expression turned playful again, her eyes involuntarily resting on Jean, whose cheeks were flushed with a flowing red light. With a gentle push, she sent the mutant Lois flying away, and with a flick of her hands, 360 colorful flying knives appeared around her.

"Again, this annoying presence. It seems today's issues can't be resolved peacefully."

"Jean!" Seeing Clark's reaction, the X-Men turned to look at Jean Grey, whose normally kind demeanor was now replaced by a terrifying aura, her eyes filled with a fierce intent to kill, showing none of her usual gentleness and calm.

Charles was alarmed: "Jean, what are you doing? Don't do this, try to control your power, you can manage it if you focus!"

...

In the vast cosmos, Clark aimlessly wandered, searching for traces of extraterrestrial civilizations. Unfortunately, this world's Earth seemed truly "lonely" as the sole civilization.

Originally, he had planned to explore this universe's cosmos with his beloved daughter after she arrived. However, after seeing the desolation of Morag, he completely abandoned this plan as even he found it unbearably boring, not to mention dragging his daughter into it.

Fortunately, his journey through the universe

 was not entirely fruitless.

Since no other races existed and human technology remained stuck in the 1980s, the entire cosmos of the X-Men universe, beyond Earth, was untouched virgin territory, all its natural resources at Clark's disposal.

This was unlike in the movie universe, where all the good stuff had already been divided up by those who had grown powerful before him, leaving him no scraps.

In just over a week, Clark had collected 32 star cores, tens of thousands of tons of Uru metal, and a vibranium meteorite ten times the size of Wakanda's mine, its purity not even slightly inferior to Wakanda's, perhaps even surpassing it!

Any of these items would be considered rare resources in the movie universe, and his haul was substantial. But the problem now was... Clark didn't need any of it!

It's said that surplus damages but deficiency needs. Yet, often, this saying is understood in reverse.

Back when he needed anything he could get his hands on, any of these items would have driven him wild with joy. But now, even this level of bounty was just... perhaps not even a bonus, merely adding to his collection.

Although the resources were valuable, they were also somewhat redundant, like tasty but unnecessary ribs.

Perhaps he could use these resources to arm Lois? Thinking this, Clark shook his head reluctantly.

Lois had already reached a universe-level status and was past the stage of needing artifacts for show. While a carefully crafted artifact might slightly enhance her combat abilities, the difference would not be significant.

Moreover, he didn't plan to start crafting right now. After this event, he would have additional opportunities to activate the "Sky Moving" BGM, and with all six Infinity Stones gathered, his power would surely receive a qualitative boost. The artifacts crafted then would far surpass anything he could make now.

Since it was a gift for his daughter, it had to be the best!

With this in mind, Clark swept up another floating star core in the cosmic void.

"Dad, Dad!"

Just as Clark was idly scavenging through the cosmos, a familiar voice suddenly echoed in his heart. It was Lois!

"Dad, this woman is tough, I might not be able to beat her. If you don't come soon, I might have to save face and strategically retreat!"

In this desolate universe where even gods seemed absent, was there really someone Lois couldn't handle?

Could it be...

With a guess in mind, Clark immediately unleashed his spatial powers. One moment he was collecting scraps in an unknown corner of the universe, the next he appeared above Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

Now, the historic castle had turned into ruins, and everyone, including Professor X, had evacuated, anxiously watching the fierce battle between Lois and Jean Grey in the center of the school.

Seeing his precious daughter being dominated by Jean's Phoenix Force, Clark's lips curled into an amused smile. First, he nonchalantly secured the star core he had just picked up in the universe, then spoke in a half-joking tone: "It doesn't seem as bad as you described. It looks like you're handling it quite well."

"Now is not the time for jokes." Lois glared at her father, who still enjoyed the spectacle at such a critical moment, and grumbled, "This woman is powerful, the Phoenix Force is much harder to deal with than when it was unmastered! And in this place, I can't use my full power, or it would spell disaster for the entire planet!"

Nodding in approval of his daughter's consideration, Clark then flashed in front of her, intercepting a blast of Phoenix fire aimed at Lois with a wave of his hand, casually saying, "Step aside, let your dad handle this."

"Okay, Dad." Lois grinned and moved back: "I'll leave this beautiful lady to you then. Go get her, Dad, and do your best!"
