Nian Bing had just arrived and instinctively caught the falling Zi Qingjian mid-air. Using his powers to control a blizzard, he gently descended to earth holding Zi Qingjian. He noted that Zi Qingjian's normally steady hands were trembling. Zi Qingjian seemed short of breath. "Could it be that Feng Nu has won?" Nian Bing wondered.

Upon landing, Feng Nu noticed Nian Bing and exclaimed in surprise, "What are you doing here?" Her remark confirmed that she had not come looking for Nian Bing.

Zi Qingjian dropped to the ground and gratefully said to Feng Nu, "I have lost. Thanks for sparing me." Zheng Nu had had him on the ropes during their airborne duel, he had been saved only by his Heavy Eagle Hand technique. There had been at least three moments where she could have slashed his throat, but she hadn't gone for the kill. He knew his own abilities better than anyone else.
