Percy Jackson POV
I stayed silent as Nancy Bobofit, the freckly red-haired kleptomaniac girl continued to hit Grover in the back of the head with chunks of peanut butter and ketchup sandwich which got stuck in his curly brown hair.
Nancy Bobofit continued to throw pieces of her sandwich at Grover, I started to move so as to beat some sense into the kleptomaniac but Grover sat me back down reminding me that I was in probation.
We left the bus and Mr Brunner began the tour he rode his wheelchair through the roman and greek exhibits, he explained everything we encountered and with so much detail that he made his lessons actually fun. Still other kids were muttering behind me, so I couldn't listen well and whenever I told them to shut up, Mrs Dodds would give me the evil eye.
Yet Nancy continued talking, snickering something about the naked guy on the stele. "Will you shut up?"
It came out louder than I meant to, the whole group laughed yet Mr Brunner only asked "Mr Jackson, did you have a comment?"
"No sir," I replied my face red from embarrassment. The tour continued as Mr Brunner continued asking me about stuff from pictures, which I answered the best I could still he was dissatisfied, he wanted me to be better than the students even though I had ADHD and dyslexia and could never get a grade above C-.
Soon we left the museum, gathering at the steps were we could see the foot traffic along the Fifth Avenue. Overhead a huge storm was brewing, with dark clouds but I had grown somewhat accustomed to it, after all we had had weather like this since Christmas, though nobody else ever seemed to notice.
Grover and I were seating at the edge of the fountain when Nancy, who I guessed had grown tired of stealing the people who walked past us walked in front of us, she then dumped her half-eaten sandwich on Grover's lap.
"Oops"
That was it, I was mad now. I tried counting to ten like the school counselor had told me but I was so mad that my mind went blank, a wave roared in my ears.
I didn't remember touching her but the next thing I knew, Nancy was sitting on her butt in the fountain, screaming "Percy, pushed me!"
Mrs Dodds materialized next to us, when I heard some of the murmurs from the other students.
"-the water-"
"-Like it grabbed her-"
I didn't know what they were talking about all I knew is that I was in trouble again. As soon as Mrs Dodds made sure poor Nancy was oaky, telling her how she would buy her a shirt from the museum gift shop, she turned back to stare at me, her crooked teeth making the most eeire smile I had ever seen.
"Now, honey-"
"I know," I grumbled. "A month of erasing textbooks."
"Come with me," Mrs Dodds said.
"Wait!" Grover yelped. "It was me. I pushed her."
Mrs Dodds stared at him so hard his whiskery chin began to tremble. "I don't think so Mr Underwood,"
"But-"
"You will stay here."
Grover looked at me desperately, "It's okay man," I told him. "Thanks for trying."
"Honey," Mrs Dodds barked "Now."
The next thing I knew I followed Mrs Dodds deep into the museum, and that's when the weird stuff started to happen.
"You've been giving us problems, honey."
I quickly replied "Yes, ma'am."
She tugged the cuffs on her leather jacket, "Did you really think you would get away with it."
The look in her eyes was beyond mad, it was evil. 'She's a teacher,' I thought 'She won't hurt me.'
Thunder shook the building.
"We are not fools, Percy Jackson. It was only a matter of time before we found you. Confess, and you will suffer less pain."
I didn't know what she was talking about, maybe she had found my secret stash of candy I had been selling to my dorm mates.
"Your time is up," She hissed. Her eyes began to glow a molten gold, her jacket became two bat like wings, her nails stretched into talons and her teeth became yellow fangs. Then out of nowhere Mr Brunner who I hadn't seen in the museum wheeled his wheelchair in, holding a pen in his hand.
"What, ho!" He shouted as he threw a pen my way as Mrs Dodds lunged at me. I stumbled out of the way hearing her talons slash the wind next to my ear. I snatched the ballpoint pen out of the air, but when it hit my hand it wasn't a pen anymore it was a bronze sword.
Mrs Dodds lunged at me one more time, scared out of my wits I swung the sword at her. Slashing at her shoulder before cutting her body in two, Mrs Dodds shrieked a yell as she turned to yellow dust.
I turned around looking for Mr Brunner but I realized I was alone and that the sword had turned back into a pen. Had I imagined everything.
I went back outside my mind a jumbled mess, I walked back to the fountain and there was Grover and waiting Nancy who said with a smirk "I hope Mrs Kerr whipped your butt."
"Who?"
"Our teacher, duh."
I only stared at her for a moment a puzzled look on my face. I asked Grover where Mrs Dodds and he just replied "Who?"
Thunder boomed overhead, and then I saw Mr Brunner sitting under his red umbrella, reading his book as if he had never moved. I went over to him.
He looked up a little distracted, "Ah that would be my pen. Please bring your own writing utensil in the future, Mr Jackson."
I handed it over and asked him "Where is Mrs Dodds?"
Mr Brunner stared at me for a second before replying "Who? There has never been a Mrs Dodds at Yancy Academy."
A/N: I know this may be boring to some of you, reading Percy's story, but I'm telling you this will pay off in for the future chapters and don't worry I won't be doing this anymore after Percy gets to the camp.
