บท 79: Chapter 81: Giving You A Chance

"You can rest assured of that." Murphy thought about it and said to James Franco, "There will be no scenes between you in the same scene."

James Franco gritted his teeth and seemed to use a lot of strength to make up his mind, "I'll say hello to my agent."

Seeing Murphy and James Franco's words come to an end, Seth Rogen narrowed his eyes and asked tentatively, "Are you guys talking about making a movie?"

Murphy nodded.

James Franco said with a big tongue, "His first movie just dropped from North America, and he's working on the second one."

"Oh ..." Seth Rogen looks simple and thick, but not stupid at all, thinking that he was like a headless fly bumping around Hollywood for a few months, but couldn't even get a small role, he hurriedly opened his mouth and said, "Director Stanton ..."

"Murphy," Murphy reminded him, "call me Murphy."

Seth Rogen nodded, scratched the back of his head, and squeezed out a sentence, "I ... I'm also an actor."

This guy's face is very old, if you only look at the appearance, it seems to be older than James Franco, but it is a fledgling who is new to Hollywood, and his face skin has not been worked out at all.

"Although we had a bit of a falling out," Murphy looked first at Seth Rogen and then at James Franco, "but like Jim, I think we hit it off. Tell you what, you come to my studio tomorrow and we'll talk in detail."

"Got a pen?" He turned to James Franco, who fished a pen out of his pocket and handed it over, and Murphy glanced at it, with the brand new label on it, and said with deliberate sarcasm, "Shunted it from somewhere?"

James Franco shrugged, neither admitting nor denying it.

Taking a napkin, Murphy wrote down his contact information and the detailed address of where the studio was located on it and handed it to Seth Rogen.

After having dinner, the three of them chatted for a while until the early hours of the morning before dispersing.

Early the next morning, Murphy had just finished breakfast when Seth Rogen approached him.

"Paul, this is Seth Rogen, an actor from Canada."

In the living room of the studio, Murphy introduced the two, "Seth, this is Paul Wilson, my assistant director."

When those two finished their greetings, he led Seth Rogen into a room on the left side, which was transformed into an audition room, Murphy had always been cautious in his work, surely he wouldn't just pull him into his crew just because his name was Seth Rogen, who knew what state these guys were in when they were not famous.

He casually found a scene script, asked Seth Rogen to improvise a little bit, which is also regarded as the initial interview.

Unlike James Franco, with whom he has worked, Murphy doesn't know much about Seth Rogen, so naturally he wouldn't just give him a big role.

But this guy's performance is good, can get what the second place in the performance competition is not bragging, after a two-minute improvisation, Murphy has a preliminary recognition of him.

The two chatted a few more, Murphy realized that this guy's age is even younger than his own, just look at the appearance, how he also want to thirty onwards.

"The project has not officially started preparations now."

Out of the audition room, Murphy said to Seth Rogen, who was following beside him, as he walked, "It may take until the end of April or the beginning of May to start filming, so you should arrange a good schedule."

"No need to arrange." Seth Rogen narrowed his eyes, "I have nothing else to do. Murph, I'll just wait for your movie."

He is not a fool, last night when he went back, he specially went to the top of the network to check, James Franco needless to say, has been considered a little famous actor, Murphy Stanton's name surprisingly can also be found from IMDB, the last work "Fruit Hard Candy" also took nearly 1.5 million dollars at the box office in North America at a cost of 300,000 dollars ...

Compared to the TV drama casts and the small, dispensable roles that I went to some time ago, this opportunity to appear in a movie is too rare.

And there seemed to be some benefits from that fight last night, the three of them talked a lot and believed that as long as they didn't perform badly, the possibility of getting a role was very high.

With so much going on above work, Murphy let Seth Rogen wander around on his own while he began a busy day.

Interviewing the finance people who came to apply for the job, contacting James Franco's agent, communicating with Bill Rossis about the behind-the-scenes labor needed, and further revising the script ...

It was so busy that he came out of his study around noon.

Coming downstairs, Murphy found that Seth Rogen hadn't left, but was instead helping Paul Wilson move things, and couldn't help but think about what the guy had said, and how it seemed like it would be good to get it as free labor for a while?

Lunch ordered takeout, the receptionist-cum-cleaner-cum-telephone operator was double, and she didn't move to Murphy's side, sitting on top of the chair that could fall apart at any moment, quietly enjoying donuts and fried chicken legs.

Murphy's three men, on the other hand, gathered at a table.

"You're welcome, Seth." Murphy slipped a bento into the fat man's hand, "The studio is just starting out, so lunch is a bit simple, don't mind."

"It's okay, it's okay." Seth Rogen sat back in his chair and waved his hand, "It's a lot heartier than a Canadian work lunch."

Paul Wilson picked up his Coke glass and took a big sip, "Most Hollywood crews don't even come close to what we get for lunch."

All three men laughed.

"Murph, Seth is great." Paul Wilson added, "He wrote a script for a Canadian TV show and it was used."

Seth Rogen scratched the back of his head and said humbly, "It was just a small program on local Vancouver TV."

"I didn't realize you were versatile." Murphy didn't seem to hear his words and suddenly asked, "Seth, are you interested in working behind the scenes of a theater production?"

"Actually ...," Seth Rogen smiled shyly, "besides screenwriting, I also want to become a producer and director."

He sighed, "Those were the ideas in Vancouver, I came to Los Angeles and realized that it's really hard to enter Hollywood, I can't even play my best acting."

"I can give you a chance." Murphy offered, "If you're interested, you can come over to my side and do some of the behind-the-scenes aspects for a while."

"Really?" Seth Rogen was pleasantly surprised, "I can?"

"Of course." Murphy nodded solemnly, "You can come over anytime."

He looked at Paul Wilson, "You can be Paul's assistant for now."

"Good! Yes!" Seth Rogen's chubby face had cracked a smile, "I was worried about having nothing to do too. Thank you, Murphy."

If he could pass the audition, in the end, in addition to the cast list, he could be given another title such as some kind of assistant director or associate producer, and these didn't cost any money anyway, instead, he could earn a free labor.

Although Paul Wilson was contacting his classmates to come over for internships, the more free labor the better, of course.
