บท 9: Chapter 9 First Day School Part 4

The first time Lucas had a nightmare like this, he was humiliated in front of the class. Peter, sitting in the third chair, could only surrender and stare at his friend, with no intention of helping.

"I don't like students who are insolent, even against my warnings."

The atmosphere in the classroom grew darker, the teacher's aura was very dark, this woman was definitely a powerful witch.

"My name is Bathilda. From now on, I will be the teacher of the first class. Call me Professor Bathilda."

The woman once introduced herself to Lucas as a teacher at the Magic Academy. It turns out that Professor Bathilda is now his homeroom teacher.

The strict and angry teacher seems to be the most difficult challenge for Lucas. No one will be able to stop him, because he always annoys everyone with his behavior.

"Class will begin..." Professor Bathilda looked at the two children still trapped inside the Golem. "I almost forgot. What are your names?"

The woman already knew Lucas' name, but she was like an idiot asking him to introduce himself in front of everyone.

"Lucas Mathias."

"Baul Roger."

Another very long lecture. Like it or not, Lucas had to listen to the lullabies again. Very heavy mental torture. Spent five minutes listening to the lecture.

Professor Bathilda finally allowed Lucas and Baul to return to their seats. Lucas deliberately took a seat next to Peter, right at the edge of the window. That was his favorite spot, where he could see the beautiful view outside when he was bored.

A loud snort came from the chair in front of him. A girl with long, waist-length hair tied up in a ponytail.

Lucas just noticed that the girl was always snorting and giving mocking looks.

There is no fear at all. Lucas kicked the girl's chair, but she still didn't move. The third time, the girl remained motionless until Lucas stopped his cruel actions.

Professor Bathilda seemed to have eyes in the back of her head; the woman's eagle eyes stared intently at Lucas.

The first lesson went quite smoothly, there were no disturbances at all and Lucas didn't even cause any trouble in class. Lucas eagerly listened to Professor Bathilda as she explained about mana, mana channeling, and the formation of magic element techniques.

One of the funniest things is that Lucas doesn't have any magic elements at all, having an aura of mana on his body means he's already called a wizard. But not being able to use magic elements means that he is not necessarily called a wizard.

"As a first example. You two, come forward." Professor Bathilda called out to Lucas and Baul. Send them both to the front of the class.

"The basics of using the Magic Element techniques. After learning them in Basic Magic School, it's certainly not difficult to demonstrate Magic Element techniques."

Professor Bathilda asked to demonstrate the use of the Magic Element techniques. Obviously, Lucas couldn't use any magic element techniques at all, in fact, he couldn't use any magic elements at all, or he didn't know what kind of magic elements he was using.

Things like this will surely make Baul happy and Lucas the object of ridicule.

"Professor, he can't use any magic element techniques," Baul said, snapping his fingers. A small flame appeared in his hand. He was deliberately taunting Lucas.

The originally quiet classroom suddenly became noisy. Lucas could hear his classmates whispering. There were those who were surprised, mocked, and looked down upon.

"Seriously? He can't use magic elements?"

"Magic elements were studied in elementary magic schools."

"Is he really a wizard?

"He's just a madman."

"He's just making a mess at the First Grade Welcome Ceremony."

The whispers grew louder. Professor Bathilda cleared her throat, stopping the noise in her classroom.

"Oh. What are you proud of then?"

"I'm good at using fire element techniques. He doesn't have any magic elements at all," Baul said proudly to himself.

Lucas snorted, his sharp eyes never leaving Baul. If there was a chance, Lucas wanted to beat him again. Besides, Baul always loses, but he can still put up a good fight.

"Okay. As a start of learning, you will be a model duel." Professor Bathilda waved her hand in front of the classroom door.

What Lucas wanted was finally granted. His hands were very itchy, he wanted to beat Baul again. Baul is like his favorite punching bag, when he is annoyed, Lucas will vent his frustration by hitting Baul at will.

The open sparring arena is circular, unlike the sparring arena inside the building. All of his first grade friends gathered and sat in their respective seats at the edge of the sparring arena, which was still empty.

Lucas and Baul faced each other. The atmosphere was not very busy, but the atmosphere of a duel could be felt. Professor Bathilda has the coolest method to explain the lessons to her students, namely direct practice.

"You say your fire magic is better? I want to see the two of you compete."

Lucas took a stance, his hands clenched tightly, channeling mana energy into his palms. It seemed that Baul was more alert this time, taking a long distance. Lucas is very skilled in martial arts, especially at close range, but Baul can use fire magic and attack from a distance.

What's most unfortunate is that Lucas hasn't learned any of this. Karina never allowed him to go to magic school, especially at that time, Lucas would rather hide his greatness than make Karina angry.

This time, what Lucas had learned autodidactically, Lucas was able to show his ability of not being able to use magic elements.

Baul attacked first, his arms outstretched. He controlled his fire magic in the form of a burst of fire that continued towards Lucas.

Lucas jumped and somersaulted, easily dodging the burst of fire. His physical abilities are strong and he runs very fast, and his body is small and short. Baul's fire attacks could never hit him.

A sudden fire attack in front of his eyes. Lucas dropped his body and slid across the field floor while the flames were above his head. Baul could not dodge the attack. Lucas managed to hit Baul's bulging belly once more. The big pig rolled over and lay on the ground.

"Again? I was defeated by a mage who can't use elemental magic techniques? I can't accept it!" Baul's face turned red, even his pig face was clearly visible.

The fire punch didn't even hit Lucas. A wall of earth blocked Lucas and Baul. Professor Bathilda made earth from earth magic. His eyes were always piercing and not friendly at all. His curly hair became curlier like noodles.

"You are already quite good, you can create magic elements. But what if you suddenly meet a wizard of a higher level? Let's just make it so that you meet an Adept-level wizard."

A girl with long brown hair wearing a flower headband raised her hands. "Professor, what is a level one wizard?"

"Ah, really? None of you have read the Wizard Level Basics book?" Professor Bathilda glared at the students in the field.

How could you memorize such a thick book with more than a thousand pages? Such a thick book was more suitable for hitting someone on the head.

Lucas was the first to raise his hand, even though he was still in the middle of the arena. "Wizards are usually given ranks, and each rank is proof of the wizard's strength. Wizards are at the level of novice, apprentice, adept, expert, master, grandmaster."

Professor Bathilda snorted and continued to stare at the students in the field. Not everyone knows the levels of wizards, or they are just too lazy to read books.

It's impossible to read such a thick book, the trick is to read the parts you need and throw away the parts you don't.

"It's true. You haven't reached the level of a wizard yet. You have to try hard to practice and learn how to become a wizard, how to reach the level of a wizard. Besides, the duel just now was very fascinating and not useful at all. You've learned the basics of elemental magic techniques, but you don't understand how to fight. Here, the Illois Magic Academy will teach you how to fight and martial arts."

Mages who have learned the basics of magic element techniques can easily use magic elements in battle. What Baul is doing is creating magic elemental spells, and he has fire magic.

But he still lacks the basics of martial arts. No wonder he lost the duel.

"Lucas has the basics of martial arts and combined the channeling of mana into his punches. Pretty great."

Baul stamped his feet on the ground like a child. "Unacceptable. How can you praise him? He has no magic element techniques, yet you praise him."

Professor Bathilda is an angry teacher who does not hesitate to punish her students. Hearing the grumbling of the top students who knew him was very frightening, and Baul braved the danger before his eyes.
