บท 284: Digging a Hole

Soon after Samar left Administrator Monae's chamber, the Council commenced its session. The very first item on the agenda was the arrest made last night.

Commander Povnar took the dais and made a short speech, describing the events that led to the arrest. The City Guards then brought in two Escorts and the three Carriage Drivers inside and Povnar read the list of their crimes. 

"These people were caught smuggling Strategic Goods stolen from the City Guards to the Drow Village. Based on our conclusive evidence, I request Councilman to approve their imprisonment."

Commander Povnar shrewdly avoided linking their crime with the Red Fox Trading Firm, even though it was known to everyone in the room. Due to his omission, neither Merchant Gama nor Tailor Kunbi of the Red Fox Trading Firm could raise their objections.
