ตอน 64: Chapter 64 General Zod's Final Chapter!

Batman made his move!

The moment General Zod's gaze locked onto him, Batman sprang into action.

This was not the novice Batman who had once fumbled with his grappling hook and tumbled from rooftops. This was the urban legend who had ended the reign of crime in Gotham City, the demon who haunted the nightmares of every evildoer.

Seasoned by countless battles, Batman could exploit every advantage he possessed, confident he could defeat any foe when properly prepared.

On one side stood the Dark Knight from Gotham City, a figure at the pinnacle of human achievement. Though aging, he remained a terror to his enemies.

On the other side was the great General from Krypton, born for war and conflict. He had aided in the conquest of countless worlds and annihilated any who dared threaten Krypton.

This clash between two champions of their respective civilizations began under Austin's watchful eye.

A Batarang flew through the air, slicing a shadowy path toward General Zod's head.

Seeing this, General Zod immediately leaped back. He wasn't sure if his current state could withstand such an attack, but the danger emanating from the Batarang suggested that this human had the power to harm him.

However, General Zod didn't worry too much. Perhaps he had underestimated Earth's civilization after his enhancement from the yellow sun, believing that nothing could hurt him. Yet, his years of combat experience reminded him how to fight without his invincible steel body.

The Batarang was fast, but General Zod dodged it with deadly precision.

In the next instant, a grappling hook shot out, striking General Zod before he could evade again. He quickly raised his arm to block the attack, preventing the hook from reaching his face.

The hook dug into Zod's arm, its sharp claws embedding into his damaged armor. The force caused Zod to stagger, accompanied by a sharp pain in his arm.

Clearly, the hook had pierced Zod's skin.

Despite the pain, General Zod's resolve did not waver. He grabbed the rope attached to the grappling hook and yanked with all his strength, pulling Batman towards him with tremendous force.

Though he had lost much of his power, Zod still felt confident that his remaining strength far surpassed that of any mere Earthling. If his opponent continued to attack from a distance, he would surely die.

But in close combat, he was certain no one could defeat him. This was the warrior's confidence embedded in his very DNA.

But what surprised him was that the other party actually had the same idea.

Batman soared through the air, pulled by the force of Zod's yank, but his movements were controlled and precise, a testament to his training and experience. The fight was now up close and personal, exactly where Zod believed he held the advantage.

But Batman was no ordinary human, and this was no ordinary battle.

Facing his immense power, the Batman showed no fear whatsoever. Instead, he charged straight at him, abandoning ranged attacks and opting for close combat.

It was as if... it was as if the other side wanted to defeat him in his own element!

"To kill a person, one must also kill their heart."

Austin licked his dry lips, realizing Bruce Wayne's intentions. What surprised him was that the old Batman would choose such an aggressive approach. Wasn't he already sixty? Was he still unwilling to accept his age?

And for the proud General Zod, this was an absolute insult. He furrowed his brow, his eyes filled with murderous intent materializing into a substantial force gathering in his fist. General Zod launched a punch toward Batman.

But then, Batman, with a cold smirk, swiftly spread open his black cape, transforming it into bat-like wings behind him, halting his body in mid-air.

It was like a speeding train suddenly coming to a halt. Batman's body stopped steadily in front of General Zod's fist, which ferociously struck the empty space, leaving only the terrifying force of the blow brushing past Batman's face.

Seizing this opportunity, Batman twisted his old body, executing a high-difficulty mid-air rotation, and viciously kicked General Zod's face with his right foot.

The full-force blow landed in the void, already making General Zod uncomfortable. Facing the opponent's attack, he was too late to defend himself, and the direct hit to his face caused General Zod to stagger backward.

But Batman wasn't about to let him off so easily. He swiftly looped the grappling gun's rope around himself, using his full body weight to press down. Instantly, General Zod's falling body was yanked back up.

Seeing this, Batman released the rope and donned a pair of knuckles made from a material carrying radiation from a red sun. He launched a series of punches.

Feeling the pain on his face, General Zod quickly steadied himself to retaliate. However, the opponent's speed was astonishing, or rather, it was not just speed but also seasoned experience.

Facing General Zod's counterattack, Batman dodged with minimal movement, each evasion at the brink of impossibility. Even a slight mistake could result in being hit by General Zod's fist. Yet, despite this, in their exchange of blows, Batman remarkably remained untouched.

Moreover, his nimble dodges allowed Batman to strike faster. His fists left afterimages, continuously hitting various joints and weak spots in General Zod's armor.

As the sole spectator on the scene, Austin watched this astounding battle, his inner monologue consisting of only two words—smooth as silk.

At this moment, Batman did not resemble an elder. He appeared more like a strong young man in his prime, possessing terrifying combat experience. From the beginning of the fight, General Zod had fallen into Batman's rhythm.

The onslaught, akin to a torrential rain, incessantly broke down General Zod's defenses. Meanwhile, General Zod's counterattacks proved futile against Batman's dancing footwork.

"This is impossible!"

General Zod roared in fury, enduring the intense pain coursing through his body as he took a punch from Batman. Finally, he seized this hard-earned opportunity, grabbing Batman's fist with his right hand.

Spitting out a mouthful of blood, fresh crimson dribbled from the gaps between General Zod's teeth.

He clenched Batman's fist tightly, his face contorted in rage.

"You're nothing but an ant, how could you possibly hurt me!"

In response came another fist from Batman, filled with strength.

And a chillingly cold whisper.

"Because I'm Batman!"
