As the moon hung in the night sky, Ryu entered the inn, its warm interior providing respite from the chilly air outside. He approached the innkeeper, who greeted him with a tired smile.
Innkeeper: "Welcome, traveler. How can I assist you tonight?"
Ryu: "A room. Preferably quiet."
The innkeeper nodded and handed him a key. Ryu climbed the stairs to his room, shedding his armor before collapsing onto the bed. Sleep soon claimed him, and he found himself in a familiar dreamscape.
In his mind, Yizo appeared, his presence flickering like a candle in the wind.
Yizo: "Well, well, if it isn't the great Ryu. Fancy meeting you here."
Ryu: "What do you want, Yizo? Can't a guy get some rest without you bothering him?"
Yizo: "Hey, I'm hurt, Ryu. I just thought I'd drop by and see how my bestfriend is doing."
Ryu: "Cut the nonsense, Yizo. What's on your mind?"
Yizo: "Alright, alright, no need to get all grumpy. Just wanted to remind you that even in your dreams, I'm always here to lend a hand. You know, in case you forgot."
Ryu: we're facing down a empire.
Yizo: Oh, come on, Ryu, where's your sense of adventure? Besides, it's not like you'd be able to handle them all on your own.
Ryu: Don't underestimate me, Yizo. I can handle anything that comes my way.
Yizo: Sure you can, big guy. But it doesn't hurt to have a little backup, right?
Ryu: Backup or not, I'm not about to let anyone or anything stand in my way. Got it?
Yizo: Loud and clear, Ryu. Just don't forget to have a little fun along the way. Life's too short to be so serious all the time.
Ryu: Fun? Who has time for fun in this world scaleshead?
Yizo: Suit yourself, Ryu. But don't say I didn't warn you when you burn out from all that intensity.
With a smirk, Yizo faded back into the darkness, leaving Ryu alone with his thoughts once more.
