Yvonne's mind swirled with questions. Why was she here? If she was not going to be here, where would she be? How could she literally forget the fact that Javier's mother could be here, knowing for a fact that she knew that she did not die?
"You're Alisa's mother, right?" Javier's mother said.
"Yes, I am," Yvonne replied, offering a warm smile.
Javier's mother gestured for them to enter. "Come inside,"
"Hi," Alexis greeted Javier's mother with a wave. Even though Alexis knows Javier, she hasn't seen his mother. Javier was always a private person and never talked much about his family.
As soon as Yvonne entered the house, Alisa spotted her and ran up to her, her face lighting up with joy. Yvonne reciprocated the embrace, holding her daughter tightly.
"I miss you so much," Yvonne whispered.
"I missed you too," Alisa replied. "I was very scared. I thought I wouldn't see you again."
