Silence filled the room before Yagoo slumped into his seat, sighing. "So some sort of conflict that will likely lead to her termination?"
"Mhm." Stretching his arms, Satou felt his back crack before he slumped again. "Feels like it. Do you want me to... remove the problem?"
Staring at Satou in the eyes, Yagoo stayed silent, before shaking his head, interlocking his fingers. "No. I swear, as head of this company, no one will be terminated again."
Smiling slightly, Satou opened a gap under him, falling through before popping up behind Yagoo and patting his back lightly. "And I'll always be there to support you, Motoaki-san."
"Thank you, old friend."
The two basked in the silence for a while before Yagoo turned to face Satou. "That reminds me, will you start searching for others?"
Satou hummed in thought, tails swishing behind him. "Eventually. I'm thinking of seeing if I can convince that one moon goddess to come visit. Or maybe check up on the priestess."
As the two basked in silence, Satou began to adjust his yukata. "I think it's time to go pick up the troublesome one."
"Leaving already?" Yagoo stood up to meet him.
"Umu. I have other errands that I have to do, and I got to make it in time for dinner, otherwise, Mio might cry." Scratching the back of his head, Satou flashed back to the time he missed dinner with Mio, Fubuki, Korone, and Okayu.
Shuddering, he opened a gap roughly the size of himself, and two waited for a while.
"Satou-kun, I don't want to be rude, but is there a way to change the eyes to something else? They make me feel nervous." Yagoo stared at the open gap, the eyes simply staring in random directions.
"Hn. I don't think so. I don't know why, but no matter what I do, I can't alter how the gap looks." Poking the ribbon on the side, Satou shook his head. "It's like there is still more to my powers than just this, yet I can't put my finger on it."
"Yosh! Shirakami Fubuki arrives!"
The white fox/cat dashed through the open gap before posing with a finger to the sky.
"There's one little rascal." Shaking his head with a smile, Satou pinched Kubuki's cheeks.
"Awawawa?! Shatou? Iwt huwts! Pleashe shtap?"
"Shishishi~ Alright, now where is Korone?"
Moments later, the brown doggo ran through the gap, holding a bucket. Her tail was wagging frantically back and forth.
"Satou! Satou! Satou!"
"Hmm?"
"Yubi yubi!"
Holding up the bucket, Satou peered inside, only to recoil backward slightly.
"E-eh? Wait, Korone, did you- Where did it go?"
As Satou was about to reprimand her, he quickly looked around, noticing the absence of the bucket filled with... yubi.
Korone simply continued to stare at him, tail wagging.
"R-right then. Yagoo, it's time for us to go. I owe Fubuki a hamburger after all."
"Of course. I'll see you soon, Satou-kun."
"Oh, and if you can, can you add music to the elevator? It's very quiet."
"...I'll see what I can do."
Opening a gap once more, Satou, Korone, and Fubuki walked through, before finding themselves in front of multiple buildings.
Beckoning to his two companions, Satou waved toward himself. "Alright you two, come over here."
As the two looked at him, Satou reached his hand into a gap before pulling it out, revealing 4 coins glimmering in the sun. Handing them both two each, he also pulled out two caps and a pair of sunglasses before putting them on both.
"Alright, you both have 1000 yen each. Use it to buy yourself what you want to eat. Make sure to stick together, alright? Meet me back here once you guys are ready to go back home."
""Hai!""
"Let's go Fubuki! I want to get a cornet!"
"Not until I get my burger!"
As the duo dashed into the crowd, Satou simply smiled. This new life, while different from his old one, was fun for him. He had people close to him, a friend he could 100% trust and even cool powers.
"This truly is the life."
"There you are!"
A hand suddenly grabbed Satou's shoulder, causing him to whirl around. Behind him was a tanned girl with long blonde hair tied into twin tails. Her golden eyes stared into his amethyst ones.
"Come with me! We have a lot to talk about, Mister!"
"E-eh? Eh? Wha-?"
A swirling portal appeared in front of the two of them as the mysterious girl dragged the helpless Satou through. As the two entered, the portal began slowly closing behind them, before disappearing.
"Satou! We got the food! Korone couldn't find a bakery that sells cornets, so we had to... improvise... Satou?"
-[HoloLife]-
As soon as the duo exited the portal, Satou found himself staring in slight awe. It was a courtroom that was pristine white, with 5 columns in a row in front of him. In front of each column were 5 thrones, each a different color. In front of each seat was a podium, all engraved with different symbols.
A leaf.
A clock.
A dice.
A feather.
A planet.
As Satou was staring, he immediately knew that the place around him was power.
"Alright, Satou-kun, please wait right here in the middle while the rest of the council arrives!"
The tanned girl disappeared before 4 of the 5 pillars began glowing.
"Recognizing [Keeper of -Nature-]."
A cold, mechanical voice rang out before a girl with wavy light green hair walked out. Her hair was decorated with white flowers, and with her were two tree branches that looked as if they were antlers. Her yellow eyes bore into Satou before a gentle smile appeared on her face.
"Recognizing [Warden of -Time-]."
A different girl walked out, this time with short, dark blue hair. She had a bow on the back of her head, as well as blue bow-shaped earrings. On top of her head was a spinning fan-like substance. Her blue eyes glared into his.
"Recognizing [Speaker of -Space-]."
The same girl from earlier appeared. She beamed in his direction before waving at him.
"Recognizing [Bringer of -Chaos-]."
Another girl walked out, this one with red hair that was as vibrant as blood. Tied in pigtails, with black and white streaks at the end, there was a large grin on her face, revealing sharp teeth that glistened. Her blue eyes pierced Satou, who was too busy distracted with the flames that flickered in her eyes.
"Welcome, Yakumo Satou. We are the Council."
"Eh? That's it?"
There was silence before Satou continued hurriedly, feeling the awkwardness of the situation.
"I was expecting the final pillar to light up. Sorry, continue."
-Time- glared at Satou, her smooth voice cold. "Watch your attitude, y-"
"No no, he has a point." -Space- interrupted. "Where is -Civilization-?"
"Hmm. She's not responding to the calls. Did she forget again~?" -Nature- sighed, putting a hand on her cheek.
"We can figure that out later." -Time- stood up, before waving her hand.
In an instant, Satou felt himself being forced onto his knees, hands behind his back. Chains quickly wrapped around him, leaving him rooted in his position, his tails shooting straight up in alarm. He couldn't move.
"Yakumo Satou. You are now under the judgment of the council for the crimes of breaking space."
