My head felt like a cow was stepping on it, and every inch of my body felt like it had been torn to shreds. I opened my eyes but then squinted at the sun coming through the window. I tried to lift my arm, but just the effort made me grit my teeth and growl.
"Still in pain? You have done more damage to your own body than I ever could!"
My eyes moved to the end of the bed I was in and locked with Akasha. Not the first person that I expected to see.
"What are you doing here?" I asked in a raspy voice.
Akasha shrugged with a smile. "Don't you remember our deal? We are partners now, or at least you need to take care of me. You nearly destroyed my heart, and I am basically defenseless now."
Memories of the fight and everything flooded back, and I felt panic start to build up. "How long have I been asleep? What about the undead army? Where is Lilliana?"
As if on cue, there was a knock at the door. "Can I come in? It's Leona."
